Two very different things happened on this rainy day.
We welcomed Deborah Russell MP who is an Old Girl (Co. 1983) and Amanda Clinton-Gohdes who is the Labour candidate for New Plymouth. We heard about Deborah's pathway and the influence our school had on her. We heard about woman's suffrage and how it is something that still needs to be fought for. (Party campaigning does not occur in schools). Thank you for making time for us.
Later on, we had a happy/sad donut/hotdog party for one of our most versatile Pathways students. Danni has been a joiner and a beautician, she has been a flag-waver for positivity in our TAP programme and she has participated in Women in Trades etc. She is also an accomplished musician. Go well Danni, you will fly in full-time employment!

This poster was made by one of our students Madison Knowles. Madison made this as part of her final assignment for her Unistart leadership paper she took through Waikato's Management school.
This poster was a self summary covering concepts and ideas Madison has learnt over the course of the paper and it focuses on how she is going to incorporate those concepts into her own leadership. While she's still waiting for her final grade Madison has managed to pass this paper with an A.

Here we have our quiet achiever, Lilly. Lilly was introduced to horses when she was younger, via a family member. She started to become interested in racehorses when she was 13. Now, Lilly is an aspiring jockey. On race days, she preps, grooms and leads horses for the races and then walks them back to their tie-ups afterwards.
Lilly is working towards her Track Work License and in Pathways, she is studying for her Equine Racing Certificate L2. What a star you are Lilly!
