Thanks to everyone who came to dance with us at Competition Society Day in Richmond. We hope you all had as much fun as we did today. Hi folks, a few things to note for Sunday's Competition Day event. Our normal changing facility won't be available until about 10.30am due to a prior booking in that room so please come prepared if you can. We will get you in there as soon as we can. Doors open at 8.45, Dancing starts at 9.30am and look out for the opportunity to win some goodies in our dancers raffle. See you all there 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 😊

NHDO Members Day. Our centre AGM, competition dancing, shared lunch and a dance workshop to round out the day. Thanks to everyone who contributed to a great day and special thanks to Victoria Trayner for coming to judge and providing an excellent and insightful workshop. Despite the already tired legs I'm sure the dancers took a lot from the day.💪

The Nelson Highland Dancing Organisation are proud to host this year's Competition Society Day on Sunday 16th August at the Richmond Town Hall. We have an Open South Island Championship and 7 Merit awards to compete for. Its going to be a great day.
Please get your entries in and paid no later than the 9th August.
Please also remember to return your cups from last year engraved and polished. Thank you😃

Carrying on the Multi-Cultural theme of the week April brought the flavour of the Highlands and danced in front of her school alongside dancers from Samoa, Myanmar, Philippines, Germany, India, Sri Lanka, Spain and Thailand. How lucky are we to have such diversity to enjoy.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Well done April 👏👏

We had a blast at Nelson's Multicultural Festival at Founders Park today. It was very hot in the sun but the dancers kept their cool and breezed through some great performances that were well received by the crowds. Lots of people asking questions about the outfits, dances and even "why do they hold their fingers like that in the Fling🦌". Thank you to everyone that came to support us.
