Celebrating 120 Year Anniversary (1903 - 2023).
This week Prep celebrated its 120 Year Anniversary. This was a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the many generations of students and teachers who have been involved in educating this age group in Nelson.
Prep welcomed Old Prep Boys to the school with a rousing Haka on the front field. The students and the Old Boys then had a question and answer session and shared their school experiences. The boys were fascinated to learn about changes to the Prep School and what school life was like in the past. How schooling has changed!

Holiday rugby tournament.
Prep boys Tyler Smith, Oliver Gallagher, Tate Mellor & Tamati Russell represented Nelson in the Seddon Shield U52 kg rugby tournament over the school holidays. They had convincing wins over Golden Bay, Buller & West Coast, but lost to Marlborough on the final day. An awesome week of rugby, new friendships and life long memories made! Prep Perspective Term 2, 2023 30/06/2023

Enjoy reading the Term 2 Prep Perspective newsletter (mostly written by the students).
Full of information about school topics, events and activities.

Prep Perspective Term 2, 2023 Despite the disruptive nature of the term because of illness, we have still been able to achieve what we set out to do in the Term 2 β€˜End in Mind’ letter. Much of this can be attributed to the teacher

Prep Musical Performance.
The end of term music performance in the hall was outstanding! The event featured three Prep rock bands, the Prep wind band and the Prep choir. The boys certainly did Mr Yorkstone, the Music Director and the other music tutors, proud. Not only was it a wonderful opportunity for the boys to showcase their talent and efforts this term, but it also served as an inspiration and encouragement for other boys to give music a go. Many thanks to parents who attended and supported the students.

Fastest relay runners!
Congratulations to the Prep Year 7 relay team who placed first at the Nelson interschool cross country relay event and the Year 8 team for placing third! A wet, muddy course with stream crossings made for a challenging run over a 1km loop track. Well done boys!πŸ™‚

The World vision 40 hour challenge starts - this weekend!
We've had great 'buy-in' from Prep boys ready to take up a challenge and find sponsors for this fundraising event. The boys can choose from two challenges: no IT for 40 hours or use a max of 40L of water over a 40 hour period. Will be harder than it sounds! Thanks for supporting your son in his challenge.πŸ™‚
