What a week it has been at Birchwood!
We kicked off the week with a non-uniform day, followed by an energetic and interactive performance from song writer, Kath Bee. On Tuesday, our Birchwood Stars Netball team (Years 1–2) wrapped up their final session for the season. A special thank you to Alana Coles for her time and dedication in coaching the team.
To top it all off, we finished the week with another non-uniform day as we celebrated and supported our old friend, Harold the Giraffe.
Here are some photos capturing the fun and excitement from the week.

On Friday 19 June Birchwood School, along with other schools and businesses across Aotearoa, will celebrate Harold and support the work of Life Education in our community by wearing yellow and making a gold coin donation (optional).
All funds stay local, meaning your support directly supports the health and wellbeing of tamariki and rangatahi in our community.

Get your outfits ready, because this Tuesday, 16 June, we are holding a special Free Dress Day!
This exciting day is to mark New Zealand’s opening World Cup game against Iran. The World Cup is an incredible event that builds bridges across different cultures, promotes peace, and celebrates global diversity, and we want to bring that beautiful kaupapa right here into our school community!
We invite all students to come to school dressed in one of the following ways:
Show Your Team Pride: Dress up as a footballer or wear the kit of your absolute favourite World Cup team.
Tell a Global Story: Wear clothing, colours, or traditional garments that represent a country or culture that you connect with.
We want to fill our classrooms with colour, culture, and sporting pride as we support New Zealand and celebrate the world coming together!
We can't wait to see everyone's amazing outfits on Tuesday!
