With 140 of our NIS kids competing across so many different codes in this year’s NISSA Winter Tournament, it’s been a total whirlwind trying to keep up with every score and update rolling in.
Win, lose, or draw end results aside- we couldn’t be prouder. A huge shoutout to all of our amazing students and the tough opposing teams who pushed us to give it our all. The determination, hustle, and heart on display all tournament long were awesome to witness!
Let the photos speak for themselves! 📸 You can see the pure joy, the grit, the awesome teamwork, and the outstanding sportsmanship that defined the whole event.
Well done to everyone involved—players, coaches, supporters, and ref team. You represented our school with pride! 👏🏆

Watching our students share laughs, and conversations, and a fantastic game of bingo with the residents was lovely.

Nelson Intermediate Official Book Day 2026 was a total hit! ✨📚
Our incredible students and kaiako really pushed the boat out today, stepping way out of their comfort zones to dress up as their absolute favourite book characters! The energy, creativity, and huge smiles across the school made for such good, wholesome fun.
So many of our fondest childhood memories are wrapped up in the pages of a favourite book or character. Getting lost in a great story and seeing our whole school community bring those stories to life today was pure magic. Superhero, classic, or comic book hero—everyone brought their A-game!

🤯 What a mind-blowing, high-intensity day at the 2026 Epro8 Inter-Whānau Challenge!
From building fully functional carousels and free-standing fans to constructing a paint machine capable of painting the hall floor—where does this cleverness even come from?! Seeing them calculate the volume of paint needed and use the radius of the carousel to work out circuit times was pure genius in action.
You could feel the tension in the room, but the sheer fun, tenacity, and innovation from every single engineer made my day.
A massive congratulations to all our incredible competitors! Special shoutout to our top teams heading off to represent Nelson Intermediate at the Inter-School Epro8 Regional Competition:
Masterminds: Hiro, Dusky, Cory, and Hendrix
Cookoo Bananas: Fletcher, Oscar, Luca, and Thom
We are so proud of every single one of you. Bring on the regionals! 🛠️📐✨
