Unbelievable effort from our Nelson Intermediate Rippa Team today!
Our amazing squad headed over to Jubilee Park to compete in the TRU Rippa tournament. Facing off against 12 highly competitive mixed teams from all over the Tasman region, our kids tore through the competition, going UNDEFEATED in all 5 of their pool games! 😱
They made it all the way to a nail-biter finish, just missing out by a single point in an incredibly tight playoff. We couldn't be prouder of their skills and sportsmanship.
A HUGE thank you to all the parents, whānau, and supporters who helped transport the kids and cheered them on from the sidelines.

🐧🌊 Building a Future for Our Kororā!
We are incredibly proud of our amazing Kaitiaki students who have been working so hard on our penguin project!
A massive thank you to our wonderful partners—the Otago Marine Studies Centre, Nelson Yacht Club, and Nelson City Council—for making this hands-on learning possible, and to all the whānau who popped in to help construct the nesting boxes! 🛠️❤️
The mission? To bring greater understanding and awareness to the tiny, precious kororā (little blue penguin) population that lives right beneath the Nelson Yacht Club.
As part of this journey, our students also had the opportunity to dive into the ocean virtually! Through an incredible VR experience, they explored the marine reserves established throughout New Zealand to preserve these vital environments. It was absolutely beautiful to watch them engaged with such genuine wonder and curiosity.
Our wee kororā are in great hands with these passionate young scientists on the case. Tumeke!

We love seeing what our creative and hardworking NIS kids get up to at lunchtime. A dedicated group of students has been showing incredible initiative out on our school mountain bike track!
Not only are they passionate about the thrill of riding it, but they’ve also stepped up to take full responsibility for maintaining and caring for it. From raking the paths to shaping the berms, they are putting in the hard yards to keep it safe and fun for everyone.
We are so proud of their hard work, teamwork, and school pride! 🚴♂️🔧🧹

Today, our small but creative light festival artists gathered to continue their process of bringing their stunning visions of light and shadow to life. 💡
We were also thrilled to have a very special guest stop by—Rose! The artists had the wonderful opportunity to share their behind-the-scenes progress with her and pick her brain about her vital role in the community.
"Bringing art to the people." 🎨✨
Thank you so much for swinging in, Rose!
The countdown is officially on. With just another week to go, we are getting so close to the finish line. We can't wait to see these masterpieces completely finished and illuminating our world!

Many student have just shared thier most recent learning reflections with you. Yu can view these in Hero!
By "revoicing" their learning, progress and choosing the evidence that shows what they’ve achieved, they take ownership of their learning goals. With their teacher’s guidance, they help decide what’s next, making sure they feel focussed for the next step in their learning. We’d love for you to take a moment to look through these reflections with your child. Whether it’s a thoughtful comment or just a quick emoji, your support is a BIG motivator.

Today, our students had the absolute privilege of spending the afternoon on-site at the Coastal View Retirement Village, and it was an absolute blast!
They played a variety of different games designed to stretch, challenge, and extend both the minds and bodies of everyone playing. The energy, laughter, and connections made across generations were truly special to witness.
To our amazing kids- Your willingness to serve, show up, and give your time to our community is what makes events like this possible.❤️✨
