Hope School's "Open Afternoon"
Thursday 29th January 2026
1.30pm - 3.00pm
This is an informal and optional opportunity for whānau to ‘drop in’ at school to meet teachers and to become familiar with new learning spaces. It is also a chance to help alleviate any anxiety or nervousness tamariki may be experiencing and address any concerns they may have.
We look forward to seeing you.

Implementation of and Enrolment Scheme
To avoid overcrowding, or the likelihood of overcrowding, the board of Hope School has implemented an enrolment scheme that has been developed by the Secretary for Education.
Under this scheme, students will be enrolled if they live within the home zone described below.
Starting from the intersection of Paton Road and Ranzau Road, the home zone follows:
North-west along Ranzau Road until Main Road Hope
South-west along Main Road Hope until Clover Road East, including Lightband Road between Clover Road East and the Wairoa River, and including Clover Road West
South-east along Clover Road East until Haycock Road
North-east along Haycock Road until Aniseed Valley Road, including Haycock Road between Clover Road East and the Wairoa River
North-west along Aniseed Valley Road until Paton Road, including Aniseed Valley Road to the east of Haycock Road, and all the side streets off Aniseed Valley Road between Haycock Road and the end of Aniseed Valley Road
North-east along Paton Road until Ranzau Road
Prospective students who have a sibling enrolled at the school on 30 November 2024 will be treated as in-zone students for enrolment purposes.
The enrolment of out-of-zone students is governed by the provisions of the Education and Training Act 2020.
The enrolment scheme, which includes a precise description of the home zone, may be viewed at the school office (or some other appropriate place within the school), where copies of the scheme are also available.

What a super cool way to end term 3 with a visit from 3 Mako men. Q & A session, drills and skills, a bit of muscle flexing and a finzup to finish. Thank you for coming to Hope School, where "a positive attitude is everything". Tasman Mako
