Captured a Royal New Zealand Air Force King Air 350 at Nelson Airport last week, with the snow capped hills providing a stunning backdrop. Adding to the scene, a Helicopters Nelson New Zealand Cabri G2 could be seen hovering in the background, making for a great morning of aviation activity.
The Royal New Zealand Air Force King Air fleet is primarily used for pilot training, multi-engine flying and transport duties. This specific king air model was recently used to support NZ customs on maritime surveillance patrol in the south pacific islands using its underbelly sensor pod whiichholds an infra-red camera system.
A fantastic sight and a good reminder that you never know what you'll spot at Nelson Airport New Zealand✈️
