NELSON HOST LIONS CLUB presents an evening with Barry Maister on May 9th at 7.30pm at Old Saint Johns Church, Nelson
Barry is a current member of the International Olympic committee and was previously Secretary General of the NZ Olympic committee for 10 years. He was an Olympic Gold medalist [hockey] at the Montreal Olympics. Admission is $12 [service fees apply] and tickets are available from the Theatre Royal, or ticketdirect.co.nz. Door sales $15.

The neighbourhood Weka, my helpmate in the garden - very good at turning the soil and finding unwanted bugs.

Happy New Year.....although it didn't have an auspicious start for me. I was working in my garden on New Years day and got some sap from my Euphorbia in my eye. I spent a few hours in A and E having it irrigated with saline solution, and at the moment everything is "softly seen"..... even without my camera! And, it IS my camera eye. It is improving and hopefully my sight will be restored to f22 soon. (Can't believe I am looking forward to full focus!)

We arrived home from Australia at 10.30pm last night...in time to be very scared by the midnight quake! All OK here, but Poppie Cat is freaked out and hiding under the bed

I guess I really DO have a status to announce! I am now a NANA for the first time. Little George who was born in Perth on 7 / 7 / 16 (and, 1+6 =7)... all the sevens. I told his Mum Juliet that this would really be a great day for him to born... he's obviously going to be a good little boy!

Just home from a wonderful week in the Blue Mountains, Australia. Stunning sun setting through bush fire smoke.

Finally, my book is ready! It will be launched at the Parker Gallery in Nelson on Friday - alongside an exhibition of prints from the book.
