Milo our director and his son spent a day at the FXB factory in Shenzhen, China last month, and were blown away by the technology they are developing. Milo’s son had just finished an international summer program at a university in Wuhan as part of his commerce degree, so was able to join him in Shenzhen.

FXB is a leader in practical engineering training aids, and we've been impressed with their genuine passion for the training industry. Meeting the founder Mr David Wang, made it clear where that passion comes from.

We have a couple of their diesel engine teaching aids, and have found their customer service to be exceptional It was surprising to see size of their operation, and how they are leading the way in developing training models for hydrogen power and AI electric.

Skipper Training NZ has a lot to learn as we keep developing, and it's affirming to be reminded by leaders in our industry about the importance of learning through mistakes.

It can be uncomfortable at times to explore the “opportunities for improvement” , but if we can create a safe place for our students and staff to go deep, the rewards are palpable.

Michael Jordan famously said "I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times, I've been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."

RNLI invited us to Poole to look at growing our fleet. It was great timing, as we're touring some of the best maritime training centres in the world to see how to continue our goal of becoming a gold standard school.

It was fantastic to meet some of the world’s top trainers, experts and competitors at the FXB EV Safety Training & Practice Competition in Shenzhen last month. The challenges exist for us all- particularly how we can better deliver theoretical learning for practical people. We’re on an exciting journey of continuous improvement, with lots to learn, but it was encouraging to see we’re on the right path.

Special thanks to the FXB team for your hospitality, and sharing your passion for hands on education. https://youtu.be/Byd4KJp2oFI?si=EuHhNF00gkcOqwr-

We're going to miss Emma!

She did an incredible job getting us through the start of this year until Julie started as our new Administrator.

I know a lot of you will have appreciated her helpfulness and positively.

Emma is heading away on a well earned gap year.

Thank you, Emma! You've been an absolute legend, and I'm not just saying that because I'm your incredibly proud father ;)
