🚒 Firewise at Bridge Street! 🚒

Our tamariki have been learning all about being Firewise this term, learning some very important fire safety skills along the way.

We finished the programme with an exciting visit from Nelson Marlborough - Fire and Emergency.
The tamariki were thrilled to see the fire truck up close and learn more about the important work our firefighters do! 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

A huge thank you to our local firefighters for helping make learning about fire safety so much fun!

A little reminder to our whānau — check your smoke alarms are working!

💛 It was very special having visits throughout the week from Campus Corner Early Learning Centre, Bridge Street Kindergarten and Matangi Āwhio Auckland Point Kindergarten.

We had some lovely wee tamariki come into our Nelson office to present the funds they had raised for Daffodil Day, and it was wonderful hearing about the different things they had been doing to collect donations.

We were also able to give each centre some Worry Worms to take back with them, a little thank you for getting involved and helping support local people impacted by cancer.

💛A huge thank you to the tamariki, teachers, families and whānau at these centres, and to all the early childhood centres across our region who got behind Daffodil Day this year. We are so grateful for the wonderful support and fundraising that helps us be there for local people impacted by cancer. It was lovely to see the enthusiasm of these little fundraisers, you’re never too young to make a difference.

Just a friendly reminder whānau ☺️

⚠️ From TODAY, Wednesday 2 September, there will be a lane closure on Collingwood Street to allow us to upgrade the manhole.

Traffic will continue to flow in both directions (Northbound & Southbound).

❌ However, there is no access to Collingwood St from Bridge St East.

🚌 The bus stops on Collingwood Street have been relocated.

Kaiako having a little fun… while sharing a very important message!

Our tamariki love seeing their kaiako join in the fun, but behind the laughs is an important lesson — being firewise and making safe, sensible choices.

The rain didn’t stop our curious tamariki from heading out for a very exciting walk along Bridge Street to see the diggers! 🚧

There were lots of wide eyes, excited faces and plenty of “WOW!” moments as we got to see a digger up close.

What an exciting way to explore what’s happening in our local community!
