Bridge Street Kindergarten

The rain didn’t stop our curious tamariki from heading out for a very exciting walk along Bridge Street to see the diggers! 🚧

There were lots of wide eyes, excited faces and plenty of “WOW!” moments as we got to see a digger up close.

What an exciting way to explore what’s happening in our local community!

Thank you to the Nelson Baptist Playgroup for inviting a group of our Bridge Street Kindergarten tamariki to join your session this morning.

We had such a wonderful time singing songs, playing together, sharing a delicious morning tea & making some new friends.

🍕 Baking Day in our Aratuna Room! 👩‍🍳🧑‍🍳

There were lots of smiles as our tamariki rolled up their sleeves for a fun morning of measuring, mixing and kneading dough to create their own delicious homemade pizzas! 🥣✨

Baking is a wonderful way to build confidence, develop early maths skills, strengthen little hands, and enjoy working together as a team. Best of all... everyone got to enjoy the tasty results! 😀

Want to give it a go at home this weekend? Here's our super simple pizza dough recipe:

🍕 2 Ingredient Pizza Dough

• 1½ cups self-raising flour
• ½ cup natural Greek yoghurt
Mix together, knead until smooth, add your favourite toppings and bake at 250°C for 15–20 minutes.

🪕 The tamariki at Bridge Street Kindergarten were delighted when Music Gran brought along her banjo! Together, they sang, danced, clapped, and moved to some of their favourite songs, filling the kindergarten with laughter and music 🎶

⚽ Our fabulous kaiako Maria was showing our BSK tamariki her amazing football skills today while on a wee adventure to the park!
After a few impressive kicks, the football took an unexpected detour and ended up stuck in a tree! 😄
Not to worry — Maria was more than ready to put her fantastic tree-climbing skills to use 🌳

Samoan week continues with the physical challenge of climbing the 'coconut tree' to pick the coconuts 🥥
