A big thank you to Linton and Mark for building this wonderful mud kitchen for our playground! Rāhiri had a great time using it today, along with the items kindly sourced by Cara. It was lovely watching Mahana children of all ages enjoying it today and we know it will be used all year round.

To wrap up our fantastic survival unit, Mahana tamariki headed out to Rabbit Island today to put their survival skills to the test. They built shelters, tackled team challenges, created help signals, had an awesome treasure hunt and ended with some games.
It was a wonderful day all round. We're always so proud of how our tamariki carry their school values with them wherever they go! A bonus the weather turned out fantastic!

What a fantastic Pets Day at Mahana! We had such a wonderful mix of animals on show — ducks, goats, lambs, a calf, a horse, plenty of dogs, bunnies, guinea pigs, chickens, and even one brave cat. All so beautifully behaved!
A huge thank you to Lawson and Freeman for judging this year — it was certainly no easy task with so much talent on display.
We also loved admiring all the amazing cupcakes and flower arrangements created by our tamariki.
Thank you to everyone who helped and contributed to making this wonderful event happen — it truly takes a community and highlights what cool opportunities are on offer at a small country school.

What a wonderful start to Term 3 Mahana has had! Kicking off with our survival theme, tamariki have been designing and building shelters, learning new survival skills and researching incredible survival stories like Shackleton, the Tongan Castaways, and more.
We have loved our first House of Science kit, all about Antarctica!
Manawanui class put on a fantastic Market Day, full of wonderful goodies and talented crafts.
We have also started hockey skills with Daniel from Sport Tasman, it is great learning new skills.
Our two Jump Jam teams have been working hard to learn their routines, getting ready for their competition, they are amazing!
So many fun opportunities, and it is only week 3!

The Vintage Car Rally visiting Mahana! What an amazing assortment of vintage cars. The place was humming with tamariki asking questions and a few even getting to sit inside and beep the horns!

What a great way to start off the school week. Congratulations to Caroline and Lucy who both got up at 5am the day after the Fiesta to participate in the Weetbix Tryathlon. Tu meke!
Also to our amazing stars of the week for taking out the Principal Awards. We appreciate your commitment to learning and the strong values you show at Mahana!
