Seido Karate Nelson Keep in touch with all the up-coming events at Nelson Dojo A martial art for men, women and children.

Seido Karate was founded in New York in 1976 by internationally respected 9th Dan Grandmaster Tadashi Nakamura. This style is based on the teaching that the greatest fight each of us must contend is the one within ourselves. Seido Karate develops confidence, co-ordination, discipline, and physical and mental fitness through the teaching of self defence techniques. Seido Karate Nelson was opened in 1974 by Hanshi Andy Barber

Osu, we are very sad to hear of the passing of Shuseki Shihan Danny. He will always be remembered as a mentor, a leader and true warrior.
Osu
The Barber family and all the students from Nelson Shibu.
We will miss you.

It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Shuseki Shihan Danny has passed away.

Shihan Danny founded the Devonport dojo 38 years ago and has taught hundreds of students karate, and helped them in endeavours in life beyond the dojo.

Our hearts go out to his family in this trying time.

Shuseki Shihan's Tangi will begin this Sunday (18th Oct) at 10am at the dojo for those that wish to come and pay their respects.

A service will be held on Monday morning at the He Manu Hopukia marae (which is the dojo and the surrounds.) Time TBA.

to all children that competed on Saturday at the Top of the South Junior Tournament.

There was a very high standard of Karate on display with many smiling faces. Thank You to all supporters who made the day so special for these next generation of World Champions.

As always a deep appreciation for all dojos that traveled a long distance.

The contribution of baking for the food stall was its usual very high standard, and big thank you to Sensei Mandy and her team for organizing this.

Photo credits to our very own Rach Ratcliffe.
