At Kiwi Treasures, we’re more than just a Centre – we’re a home away from home.

Nestled in the heart of Stoke, Nelson, our warm and welcoming environment is where tamariki feel safe, loved, and inspired to learn through play every day

Can you guess what this amazing creation is?

Three determined tamariki worked together to design and build this incredible structure, adding animals and carefully balancing blocks as their ideas took shape.
One of the things we love most about play-based learning is watching children's creativity and teamwork shine.
So… what do you think it is? A zoo? A castle? A hotel? A spaceship?
Pop your guesses below! 👇

At Kiwi Treasures, wet days don't stop us, they just change how we play.

This week's wet weather has brought plenty of puddles, mud, and opportunities for exploration. Whether digging, splashing, transporting, or simply seeing what happens when water meets bark, our tamariki have been making the most of every muddy moment.

Sometimes the best play comes from embracing the weather and seeing where it takes us.

From Pretend Play to the Real Thing
After spending time pretending to plant feijoas, strawberries and all sorts of other treasures, the children's interest in gardening was clear.
Kaiako Nikki noticed their enthusiasm and brought out some real seeds for the children to explore. Together they looked through the seed packets and chose what they would like to grow, settling on carrots, lettuce and spinach.
The children carefully planted their seeds into trays and are already excited to see what happens next.
Now comes the waiting game... which seed will sprout first?

As another chapter comes to an end, we are saying goodbye to some very special tamariki heading off to school.
Chelsea, Shayne, Marley, Ezra and Darby, it has been such a privilege watching each of your personalities grow over your time at Kiwi Treasures. From big imaginations and belly laughs to quiet moments, friendships, confidence, and adventures, each of you has brought something special to our days.
We are so proud of you all and you will be truly missed by both tamariki and kaiako. Thank you for all the memories, laughs, and moments shared with us over the years.

Wow. Thank you for these kind words.
Reading feedback like this reminds us why we do what we do.
Creating a place where tamariki feel safe, valued and excited to learn each day is at the heart of everything we do. Hearing that Kiwi Treasures feels like a second home to families means the world to our team.
Thank you for trusting us to be part of your child's learning journey.

Who needs ordinary days when you can have superheroes, unicorns and dinosaurs?
Dress up days are always a favourite at Kiwi Treasures, sparking imagination, confidence and plenty of smiles.
Tell us... what would your child choose to dress up as?

Meet Beth!

Kia ora, I'm Beth.

My journey with Kiwi Treasures began almost 10 years ago as a parent. I quickly fell in love with the warm, whānau feel of the centre and the caring relationships that make Kiwi Treasures so special.
I started my teaching journey at Kiwi Treasures as a reliever while studying to become a qualified kaiako. As my experience and passion for early childhood education grew, I joined the team permanently before completing my studies. After becoming qualified, I was excited to continue my journey as a registered kaiako.
I love building strong relationships with tamariki and whānau and supporting children as they grow in confidence and independence.
Having watched my own daughter learn to climb the tree, build confidence and create friendships that have continued into intermediate school, I know just how special those early years can be.

Our climbing tree is definitely one of the most popular spots in the playground lately
It got us wondering…
What was YOUR favourite part of the playground as a child?

ECE teachers everywhere know… one tiny bug can become the main character of the entire day.
Today’s discoveries sparked LOTS of curiosity, careful observing, and excited conversations.

Would your child bring the bug to the kaiako… or run away screaming?

ALERT! A giant robot has arrived at Kiwi Treasures..
Now we need a name…
What should we call them? 🤔
Bonus points if you give it a superpower too.
