Can you guess who Ace's favourite artist is?

One glove... a big smile... and his very own concert!
Today, Ace organised a concert for us, handing out tickets before taking to the stage for a performance. We love seeing tamariki bring their passions to life through imaginative play, creativity, and confidence.
Think you know who inspired today's concert? Press play and let us know your guess in the comments!

Mānawatia a Matariki!
Throughout the week, our tamariki explored the meaning of Matariki through a range of hands on experiences and creative activities. Together, we created wall displays inspired by the Matariki stars, made kites and wind wands, decorated lanterns to light up our celebration, painted rocks to remember those who have passed and explored the stories and traditions of this special time of year.
It was wonderful to finish the week by coming together with our whānau to celebrate Matariki.
From all of us at Kiwi Treasures, we wish you and your whānau a happy and restful Matariki.

A huge thank you to Adriana for taking time out of her day to help our tamariki create their very own poi.

They have been a huge hit, and we're so excited to now have a full centre set that everyone can enjoy together! It's been wonderful to see our tamariki building confidence, coordination, and rhythm while strengthening their connection to te ao Māori through music, movement, and play.

Ngā mihi nui, Adriana, for sharing your time and talents with us. We appreciate you!

Do you remember playing with poi as a child, or is there a favourite waiata you'd love to share with us? We'd love to hear in the comments!

Busy bodies in action!
When busy energy needs an outlet, our tamariki know just what to do!
From mastering the balance boards to sending balls flying with our ball launchers, there have been plenty of opportunities to move, challenge themselves and have fun with friends.
Sometimes little bodies just need to wiggle, wobble and move!

Can you guess what this amazing creation is?

Three determined tamariki worked together to design and build this incredible structure, adding animals and carefully balancing blocks as their ideas took shape.
One of the things we love most about play-based learning is watching children's creativity and teamwork shine.
So… what do you think it is? A zoo? A castle? A hotel? A spaceship?

At Kiwi Treasures, wet days don't stop us, they just change how we play.

This week's wet weather has brought plenty of puddles, mud, and opportunities for exploration. Whether digging, splashing, transporting, or simply seeing what happens when water meets bark, our tamariki have been making the most of every muddy moment.

Sometimes the best play comes from embracing the weather and seeing where it takes us.

From Pretend Play to the Real Thing
After spending time pretending to plant feijoas, strawberries and all sorts of other treasures, the children's interest in gardening was clear.
Kaiako Nikki noticed their enthusiasm and brought out some real seeds for the children to explore. Together they looked through the seed packets and chose what they would like to grow, settling on carrots, lettuce and spinach.
The children carefully planted their seeds into trays and are already excited to see what happens next.
Now comes the waiting game... which seed will sprout first?

As another chapter comes to an end, we are saying goodbye to some very special tamariki heading off to school.
Chelsea, Shayne, Marley, Ezra and Darby, it has been such a privilege watching each of your personalities grow over your time at Kiwi Treasures. From big imaginations and belly laughs to quiet moments, friendships, confidence, and adventures, each of you has brought something special to our days.
We are so proud of you all and you will be truly missed by both tamariki and kaiako. Thank you for all the memories, laughs, and moments shared with us over the years.

Wow. Thank you for these kind words.
Reading feedback like this reminds us why we do what we do.
Creating a place where tamariki feel safe, valued and excited to learn each day is at the heart of everything we do. Hearing that Kiwi Treasures feels like a second home to families means the world to our team.
