Boho Velvet Upholstery

This is Happy from Snow White. I was asked to restore this very old toy. When I received him he had lost his shape, being quite flat with the original horse hair stuffing. I added more hair to plump him up and gave him a new set of clothes. He'll be fine for another 100 years now. What a treat to work on something so unique. Thank you to my my client for trusting me with such a special family heirloom.

I've Started painting an elegant table to repurpose to become an upholstered end of bed stool. My question to you is in your opinion which fabric shall I use? Beautiful vintage flower linen or a delicious blue velvet perhaps deep buttoned? Neither of which are particularly good colour representation in these photos :)

Its with a sad heart that I'm saying goodbye to teaching for a while. Just a while. I have been teaching upholstery for 8 years and have loved every minute of it, to see the passion and joy and accomplishments from all my students over the years has been wonderful. So my plan is to upholster my furniture collection in the container....there's an eclectic mix in there and I can't wait to share my peices with you.
Who knows I might even write an upholstery project book :)
