The more Enneagram work and research I do, the more I've come to realise the key is CURIOSITY! 🧐

We all have different worldviews, different takes on things, differing opinions and different values. That's what makes life fun...

However at times this can cause stress, conflict, sadness, disconnect and anger.

We are all going about life with the tools we have, but what if you added CURIOSITY to your tool kit?

I'm talking about a genuine curiosity, where we are whole heartedly coming from a place of being curious about how others think, act, feel things differently to us. πŸ€”

This allows us to take some of the emotion, blame, heat and frustration out of a situation. Gives us an empathy towards others...

Don't get me wrong you can't just switch it on....its like a muscle, you have to start small, practice...until one day it's just your default.

After all...look at the definition of "curious"....surely we should all be eager to know and learn things? πŸ’―

Sometimes life ain't all roses, it's not even close, some days are sent to test you, but tomorrow is a new day, a fresh start. ✨️

This morning Caitlyn and I got off to a rough start, just the usual "morning, pre teen moods" ...add to that me being tired and sick....not a great combo.

Navigated that, got to work to find a giant cluster fly infestation in our roof...🀒...

Then my lunch leaked all through my bag, while I was cleaning that out I dropped my keys, broke my garage door opener.

Work was tough, dealing with the public is tough....the workload is crazy right now...

Battling through the week sick not helping...BUT..πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

None of it matters, the important things matter, health, family, the air we breath, the freedom we have, the roof over our head and the bed we lay in each night.....hug your loved ones, get in some self care and sleep well my friends 😊

Time for some reading and sleep 😴

Find laughter! Don't know what was so funny but we both ended up in stitches...good medicine though...we all need more belly aching, face cracking laughter more often!

Special day, felt today like I did when I left her at 5yrs on her first day of school....like you are pushing them out to the world, except this time I know she's so capable, ready and can do it alone. So proud of her, think i found it harder than her, yes there was the odd tear rolling down my cheek that I had to wipe away....but overall just so excited for the next year's ahead!

Have you taken the time to slow down?

Slow down from the influx of family gatherings, the forced and welcomed one's...

Slow down from the pressure to spend over Christmas and holiday period. πŸŽ„

Slow down after getting kids ready for back to school, back to routine, from having them home for 6 or 7 weeks! πŸ€ͺ

Slow down after the extra food, drink and lack of sleep. 🍸 πŸ§‰

Slowing down may mean just taking an hour out on your own, a walk on the beach, shutting yourself in your room....heading away for half a day, a night.

Fitting in some exercise, listening to a podcast, doing something just for YOU!

Please take time to slow down, reflect on 2022 and think about what you would like to achieve, learn or where you will grow this year.

Mornings, they are such a gift!

Yesterday we came camping, so big day getting everything ready, setting up....all went well, but I was spent! Had no energy.

So I made a pact with myself I would get up for a sunrise run. Own my morning.

So got my gear ready night before, less excuses then, got up and hit the pavement.

Good energy and rest comes from more than just a good sleep it means....

🌞 getting good light exposure as early as you can from waking (natural light...put the phone down πŸ˜‰?

πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ moving your body, a walk, run, some stretching, yoga, cycle, a swim....just move

🌬 Make sure you're taking time to breathe, calm your nervous system throughout the day

⏰️ try and regulate the time you wake, on holiday, while working, no matter the sleep you've had, trust me on this!

πŸ₯‘πŸ₯₯πŸ… Nutrition.....fuel your body with what it needs with less of what you don't need. Try not to eat 2 hrs before bed to let your digestion be over by the time you hit the sack. No coffee, sugar, alcohol before bed (I know I know)

πŸ“± listen to a podcast, read a book, lye on your Shakti Mat, meditate, listen to music.....just don't lye in bed and scroll.....I slip into this sometimes, we all do..default mode.

OWN your mornings and your evenings, and you will enjoy the day better! Be intentional, try 1 new habit, challenge.....your future you will thank you.
