C sat on the rug with a pile of colourful blocks. His eyes lit up with determination as he
began stacking and joining the pieces together. He talked about building Thomas the Tank Engine.
Carefully, he added blocks for the engine’s shape, some orange and green purple blocks and blue .Piece by piece, his creation started to come alive.
C checked the blocks , making sure it didn’t fall over, and proudly pointed out which parts
were Thomas’s “engine” and “wheels”His imagination guided the design, and he used
problem-solving skills to fit the blocks together in new ways. C worked with focus and creativity,
showing pride in his finished thomas ❤️

D and K sat together surrounded by baskets of colourful magnetic blocks, ribbons, and
musical instruments. They explored the resources with curiosity—picking them up, examining them, and
experimenting with how they could be used.
K reached into the basket and handed some blocks to D, showing early awareness of sharing
and supporting his friend’s play. D responded by exploring the drumstick and other objects around
him. Both children engaged in parallel play but also demonstrated moments of social connection,
watching each other closely and imitating actions.
Through this play, D and K are:
• Building social skills by sharing resources and engaging in moments of connection.
• Developing communication through gestures, imitation, and non-verbal cues.
• Exploring cause-and-effect through experimenting with sound, shape, and movement.
• Strengthening their curiosity and creativity by choosing how to use the open-ended resources ❤️

What a fun morning we had at rabbit island today inthe magic forest hunting for rabbits, bears dragons and dinosaurs!! It was great fun running and climbing and digging! We were digging for rabbits that were hiding way down in their burrows, and when we looked up the trees were so very high!!!

What a fantastic day we had!! We decided to go to mapua and go on an adventure by hopping on the ferry and going over to rabbit island, it was fun looking out the window of the ferry and seeing all the ripples on the water and the big bubbles from the motor! We found lots of rabbit holes on rabbit island but no rabbits…. And then we went back on the ferry and had nice warm chippies ❤️
