William Colenso College William Colenso College is Year 7-13 co-ed intermediate & secondary school We are a co-educational secondary school for years 7 - 13 students.

Our school is separated into two distinctive areas, Middle School and Senior School. We take pride in being Napier city's co-educational college and middle school. We have a healthy learning atmosphere, which encourages collaboration between boys and girls. This in turn develops self-confidence in students so that they feel comfortable sharing their ideas and opinions in any situation, which prepa

res them to excel in life after school. The Middle School Philosophy is based on an acknowledgement that emerging adolescents are at a pivotal developmental stage and have specific needs. Our Middle School creates a responsive and appropriate experience for this age group. The Senior School focuses on providing a wide range of academic, practical, cultural and sporting opportunities. No only will these lead to qualifications (NCEA) but also to a real sense of achievement and enhanced self-esteem. Our staff are renowned for being friendly and positive. We pride ourselves on being highly professional and are constantly reflecting, and looking at ways to improve our performance.

Lower North Island Secondary Schools Netball Tournament

Our girls are settling in and are amazed by the volume of teams, supporters and the size of Ākau Tangi Sports Stadium.

Sunday Day 1 - Butterflies and excitement - big losses today as we find our level of competition. It was to be expected and morale is high. We faced Taradale High School in our 2nd game.

Monday Day 2 - Good moral today - still finding our grading level as we catch some moments of brilliance. A loss to Spotswood College and a seven goal loss to Te Kura o Kokohuia.

Tuesday Day 3 - Good morale - carrying some sickness and injury and still have good team spirits around our camp. We have Onslow College (Wellington) at 11.30am and Awatapu College (Palmerston North).

Some games are live streamed go on Youtube Lower North Island Netball. Unfortunately our games are not covered today.
The girls had their first outing in Wellington yesterday due to an early finish visiting Te Papa and the Escape Room.

We are officially 5 weeks into Te Vaka Māia, and our rangatahi continue to put in the mahi! 🙌

The warmer mornings are making those early wake-ups a whole lot easier, but the physical training is only getting tougher. This week, the team carried equipment down to Marine Parade to watch the sunrise before being introduced to the hill — a challenge that pushed students to show resilience, determination and bravery as they tested themselves and pushed towards their limits.

With the Longest Day just around the corner, our students are now mentally preparing within their teams, ready to put every ounce of energy they have into the challenge — not just for themselves, but for each other.

Team Mana and Team Toa are now organised, and a huge congratulations to the following students who have been selected as Team Leaders:

Only 3 weeks to go. The mahi continues. The challenge gets harder.

Online GP care now free for all under-14s

With lots of winter illnesses about right now, health services are experiencing very high demand. If you need to speak to a GP and can’t get in to your usual doctor or its after hours, Online GP provides a great option for accessing safe and quick care. The service is available from anywhere in the country, anytime day or night, and is now free for all under-14s.

Appointments usually take place through a video app or a phone call, and the service can prescribe medicine and send prescriptions to your nearest pharmacy.

It also provides another care option for rural communities, reducing the need to travel.
