Yesterday, our fabulous Year 5 and 6 librarians headed down to Taradale Kindy to share their love of books and reading with the kindy kids.

Our librarians did such a wonderful job reading stories, chatting with the children and helping make books come alive. It was lovely to see our older tamariki being such positive role models and sharing their enthusiasm for reading with our younger community.

Of course, no kindy visit would be complete without some playtime afterwards! There was plenty of fun exploring the playground, joining in with the kindy kids and, we suspect, reliving a few happy kindy memories!

A huge thank you to Taradale Kindy for having us. We had a fantastic time and loved being able to spread a little reading magic!

Orchestra Play-In Day 🎶

A huge well done to all of our TPS tamariki who participated in the Orchestra Play-In Day at Havelock North Intermediate today.

What an amazing experience to perform as part of a full orchestra, and it sounded fantastic!

A big thank you to our whānau who helped with transport and came along to support the concert.

And a massive mihi to Mrs Sally Davies for the many weeks of before-school practices getting our tamariki ready for today. TPS is so lucky to have someone with your passion, dedication and love of music. Thank you for creating these amazing opportunities for our tamariki.

15 more PB4L superstars!

Another awesome group of TPS tamariki were recognised at our PB4L Assembly today, with 15 superstars receiving their wristbands!

5 tamariki received their first band and 10 received their second band. How amazing is that!

These tamariki continue to show our 3 R’s, Respect, Responsibility and Relationships, through their learning, friendships and choices every day.

The 3 R’s are alive and well at TPS!

Some of our tamariki had a special morning with Time2Train – Mātatoa!

They began with some fun games before learning about the different types of pounamu. Tamariki then selected their own special piece and carefully worked on it by sanding it or using the water blaster. Finally, they polished their pounamu, creating a precious taonga to take home.

Ngā mihi nui to Frank Haimoana, Tumuaki of Time2Train – Mātatoa, for providing such a meaningful, hands-on experience for our tamariki.

What a fantastic day we had at our Year 3-6 cross country yesterday! We were incredibly proud of all our tamariki for giving it their best, showing determination and encouraging one another along the way. It was wonderful to see so much house spirit, perseverance and whanaungatanga on display.
 A huge mihi to our staff and whānau who supported the event and cheered on our runners. Congratulations to everyone who participated, you were all amazing! Tau kē!

Wow! What a day! We are super proud of our TPS tamariki who ran in the Year 3 - 6 Cross Country event today. There was a wonderful display of effort, encouragement and enjoyment from everyone.
