A look at what’s growing at PCTI 🌱

We popped in to see Paul and the horticulture patch, and the place is looking amazing.

He’s put a huge amount of work into the space, from the raised garden beds and tunnel house to all the vegetables now coming through.

It’s great to see the area taking shape and to have a space where learners can get stuck in and learn by doing.

Big thanks to Paul for all the time and effort he’s put into it. The results really speak for themselves. 👏🌿

And yes, the scarecrows are definitely part of the team too. 😄

What a day at CANVAS Expo! 🙌

We had such a great time at Baypark Arena in Tauranga meeting so many people, sharing what PCTI is all about, and getting involved in all the action.

From our selfie booth to the “guess the number of fish” competition, there was plenty happening at the PCTI stand.

Hard work, two qualifications and a clear passion for animal care.

We’re proud to celebrate one of our Animal Care learners, who has worked incredibly hard to complete both her Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications.

“Completing my Level 3 Animal Care course was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It gave me a deeper understanding of companion animals and the confidence to gain hands-on experience in rescue shelters and catteries.

It also inspired me to continue on to Level 4. I hope younger generations see that with dedication, patience and kindness, they can build a career that makes a real difference for animals in need.”

A well-earned achievement and an exciting step forward in her animal care journey. Congratulations! 🐶🐱

From lunch to a little friendly competition! ⛳

To finish off our July Staff PD Day, the team headed to Golf360 for a round of mini golf. It was the perfect way to unwind, have a few laughs, and spend time together outside the workplace.

Safe to say... there were some surprisingly competitive putters in the group! 😄

Nothing brings people together like good food! 🌯🍰

A huge thank you to Maricon, Komal, and Vinojan for catering lunch at our July Staff PD Day. The wraps were a crowd favourite, and Komal's homemade Biscoff cheesecake was the perfect sweet finish.

Cooking up new skills at YG Mount! 🥟

Our NCEA Level 2 students at PCTI Tauranga – YG Mount got hands-on in the kitchen during Term 2, learning how to make pork dumplings and dipping sauce from scratch.

A big thank you to Maricon and Adele for guiding the students through the session and helping them build confidence with practical cooking skills.

Great work team! The dumplings looked amazing! 👏
