What a brilliant way to finish the week! 💙

Thank you to all of the dads, granddads and whānau who joined us this afternoon for our Father’s Day celebration. It was wonderful to see so many of you enjoying our sausage sizzle, spending time with the children and getting involved in our much-anticipated annual Capture the Flag game!

A very special thank you to Mount Butchery & Deli for supplying the delicious sausages, and Four Square Mt Maunganui for the bread and sauce. We are so grateful for your generous support of our school.

Capture the Flag was, as always, highly competitive - with plenty of laughter, determination and some impressive speed on display! Such great fun for everyone.

To all of the wonderful dads, granddads and special men in our children’s lives, we wish you a very happy Father’s Day on Sunday. We hope your day is filled with lots of love, laughter and special time with your whānau. 💙

On Monday, our Kōura, Pāpaka and Pāua classes had a wonderful time visiting Hungahungatoroa Marae.

Our tamariki were warmly welcomed onto the marae and enjoyed a morning full of hands-on learning and fun. They had the opportunity to practise tītī tōrea, take part in taonga tākaro – traditional Māori games, and learn about some of the beautiful patterns and designs of the wharenui, including the tukutuku panels inside.

It was a wonderful opportunity for our children to learn together, experience something new and spend time in such a special setting.

A huge ngā mihi nui to everyone at Hungahungatoroa Marae for the warm welcome and manaakitanga shown to us. We are also incredibly grateful to our wonderful parents and whānau who provided transport and stayed to support us throughout the morning. We simply couldn’t provide opportunities like this for our tamariki without your help.

Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa — what a wonderful morning for our tamariki! 💚

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Principal's Message

Kia ora e te whānau,

We are looking forward to our upcoming visits to Hungahungatoroa Marae. We have needed to make a small change to our original plans and will now visit the marae in two groups:

Monday 31 August - Kōura, Pāpaka and Paua

Thursday 3 September - P**i and Kina

For both visits, we will leave school at 9.30am and return at 12.30pm.

A big thank you to the parents and whānau who have already let us know that they are able to help with transport. We really appreciate your support. With the change to our arrangements, could you please let your child’s class teacher know whether you are still able to assist with transport on your child’s new visit date, or if you are now able to help and had not previously indicated this.

On the day of their visit, children should arrive at school at the usual time wearing their correct school uniform. Please make sure they bring their school bag, packed lunch and drink bottle as usual.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we make this change. We are really looking forward to this special opportunity for our tamariki to spend time at Hungahungatoroa Marae, deepen their learning and strengthen our connections with our local community.

Ngā manaakitanga,

Lisa Broadmore
Tumuaki / Principal
