Not going to lie, even I was blown away at the fast progress for the client! 🤯
Their little one was co-sleeping and was fed to sleep and back-to-sleep throughout the night. Due to the frequent night wakes, plus the very short naps during the day, both baby and parents were exhausted and felt like the time was right to make a change. ✨
We discussed their babies temperament, and found a strategy we felt would work for her while staying true to their parenting style.
We were able to see incredible progress after just a week, and after two we had a baby who was now napping well, settling quickly and capable of easily resettling herself if she woke throughout the night. 🌙
I’m so pleased for them, and it absolutely fills my cup reading reviews like these! 🫶🏼

Making changes to your baby’s sleep doesn’t have to be a big, dramatic, stressful process.
You can gently and gradually move towards your sleep goals at a pace you and your baby feel ready for. 🤎
The Hierarchy of Soothing can be a great visual to refer to when understanding where your baby’s settling is currently at, and the small steps you can take if you wish to move towards self-settling.

How long does it take to see improvements in sleep after a consultation? 🤷🏼♀️
This is a common question and a difficult one to give a definitive answer too as it’s dependent on a few different factors such as:
🤎 Whether the chosen soothing technique is suits to the baby’s temperament
🤎 How consistently the parents are applying the technique
🤎 The communication on the Sleep Log-the more details about nap times, feed volumes, settling behaviours etc, the easier it is for me to know if adjustments need to be made
🤎 Your baby’s unique temperament- some babies adjust to change in routine very easily and others need more support and a more gradual approach
🤎 Also if your baby gets sick we adjust our plan and you just do whatever you need to comfort your baby so this often means the whole process takes a little longer
But I tell clients on average with consistency we see progress within 3-5 nights, significant improvements by one week and things have usually really fallen into place by the two week mark.
Every baby and every parent is different, there is no one size fits all so time frames do vary but working towards your baby getting healthy sleep is absolutely worth the effort- for them AND for you! 🥰

SLEEP TRAINING MYTHS…🤫
Part one! ☝🏼
I’m starting with one most common..
“Sleep training means leaving your baby to cry alone until they fall asleep.”
To me, that’s like thinking going to the gym means I HAVE to go on this one particular weight machine that I hate- and I don’t want to do that so I’m going to ignore all the 50 other things I COULD do at the gym that would actually suit me quite well, potentially even change my life…and instead not go at all and judge anyone else that does go.
“Sleep training” is simply adjusting what isn’t working in order for the whole family to get the sleep they need.
There are many different methods that work with your unique parenting style and your child’s temperament. That doesn’t have to involve CIO.
But at the same time- if sleep training isn’t for you, that’s ok too! 🤎
Because if it’s not a problem for YOU, it’s not a problem! 👏🏼

Sleep-in after a rough night? 😴
So you’ve had one of those nights where you’re up every couple of hours? And then both of you are completely OUT to it the next morning? 💤
I don’t blame you! It can be tempting to catch up after a tough night, but if you’re regularly struggling with sleep it might just be these sleep ins that are doing more harm than good.
Babies thrive on routine. Their bodies and circadian rhythms become accustomed to consistent sleep times, and a stable routine can make a big difference in their nighttime rest. 🌙
When their bodies get used to making up for the lost sleep (during the multiple night wakes) with a long sleep in the morning it can create an unwanted cycle.
As hard as it can be, waking your little one at 7am regardless of what happened overnight avoids disrupting the whole day, making bedtime settling easier and maintaining a predictable routine is going to prevent a cycle of night wakes. 🔁
Of course, if your baby is unwell then extra sleep is perfectly fine. In those cases, rest and cuddles is always the best remedy! 🥰

CLIENT FEEDBACK 👇🏼
“ I would highly recommend Lia! Our 9 month old was was reliant on being held and rocked to sleep every night and was waking 45 minutes to 2 hourly, multiple split nights and 4am starts most days, needless to say we DREADED bedtime every night. Within 1 week she was self settling with our chosen settling technique and sleeping through the night. We loved that Lia came with options on which settling techniques we could use and she was so kind and informative about the big changes we were about to implement. The daily communication we had also helped troubleshoot any hiccups along the way.
So thank you again so so much Lia, you really have been just incredible”.
This client and her little one were ready to start getting the sleep the BOTH needed. 💤
