Woo Hoo! We can't wait to see you all tomorrow! Please remember to lather up with sunscreen before you come to school. We'll have some available for top ups at break but would appreciate sending your child already lathered each day. Should your child require special sunscreen, please send this in and have a chat to their teacher. Thanks so much! Don't forget to include a sunhat, togs and towel each day, too. It's going to be a great "short" week and we're excited to get into the 2022 school year!

Parents - please remember to wear masks inside the school grounds and to sign in using the QR codes. New signs will be going up tomorrow which will make this heaps easier for you.

A reminder that masks are required for Room 1. The Ministry of Education will be providing masks but these won't arrive until the end of this week, so please pack a mask they can use in the meantime (we have some here too). Should your child not be able to wear a mask, please contact Anna or myself. Thanks so much.

See you tomorrow.

Welcome back! We are so excited to see you all on Tuesday, 1 February. The classrooms are looking great :) The school has had a spiffy paint job (thanks Shane Eggers!) and staff are refreshed and ready to go! Please don't forget to log in to HERO for updates on how we're operating in Red, to get your child's classroom information and more.

Have a fantastic long weekend and we will see you on Tuesday!

We are really excited to let you all know that we have hired two great new teachers for next year. Scott will be taking over in Room 2. Scott is passionate about sports and the outdoors and we are excited for him to bring all that knowledge and passion to the school. He will be teaching alongside Anna, who is moving up to Room 1 from Room 4. Lesley will be moving into Room 4 and working alongside Natasha in Room 5. Lesley is an experienced teacher who is also an accomplished sailor, kayaker and horse rider. She's also passionate about music and is currently running her school's choir (including hip hop and rap songs). She's very excited about her move to the bay (and to lots of new adventures). We will be sharing more information about both Lesley and Scott in this week's newsletter.

The board of trustees have recently readvertised the principal's position and we will keep you updated with their progress.

Have a wonderful week.

Unfortunately, we have made the very hard decision to cancel the picnic and production night next Thursday. We know the disappointment that this will cause, and apologise in advance for it, but we simply can't guarantee to keep everyone safe on the night (through social distancing). We will still be holding the production, though we will now use the hall next door so that we can record it for our whanau (and have good acoustics so you don't miss anything).

At this point, the Year 6 leavers dinner will go ahead, though there will be differences on the night. As numbers are much smaller than for the production, we will adhere to strict social distancing protocols in the hall for our whanau and masks will be mandatory. We will also not be serving coffee and tea at the end of the evening. We trust that you will understand our reasons for this. More details about the evening will be sent home soon. Huge thanks to Abbie Langford for organising the event!

Kia ora koutou.

Unfortunately, the weather for tomorrow isn't looking very flash -- we've made the hard call to postpone our Parapara trip until Friday, 12th November. If you were available to drive, please notify your child's teacher about whether you can still help out on the 12th.

Thanks so very much!
