Remembering our beautiful Joy

It is with great sadness and very heavy hearts that we share the passing of our much-loved teacher and colleague, Joy.

Joy was a treasured member of the Reid Park Kindergarten whānau. She loved our tamariki wholeheartedly and was always their biggest advocate. She celebrated their achievements, encouraged them through their challenges and took enormous pleasure in helping them grow in confidence.

Joy had a wonderful sense of humour and a personality that filled a room. She could make us laugh, even on the hard days, and there are so many funny stories and special memories that we will carry with us.

Joy will be deeply missed by our tamariki, whānau and kaiako.

“He aha te mea nui o te ao?
He tangata, he tangata, he tangata.”
What is the most important thing in the world?
It is people, it is people, it is people.

Joy was one of those people who made a difference simply by being herself. Her kindness, strength, humour and love will remain part of the fabric of Reid Park Kindergarten.

Our deepest aroha and condolences are with Joy’s whānau and all those who loved her. ❤️

Rest peacefully, Joy. We will miss you more than words can say, but we will continue to tell your stories, share your laughter and remember the beautiful mark you left on us all.

Ka nui te aroha mōu, Joy.
Moe mai rā, e te hoa. ❤️

The Little Yellow Digger Came to Visit! 🚜

The little yellow digger came to visit kindergarten today and got straight to work, digging up all of our wood chips! The children had a wonderful time watching the digger in action and seeing all the work happening right before their eyes. 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️

Watch this space for more updates as the work continues and we get ready for our new safety matting!

We’re so excited to see the transformation!

Welcome Back to Term 3!

We are looking forward to welcoming all of our tamariki and whānau back to kindergarten for Term 3 next week. We hope you’ve all had a wonderful, restful holiday and can’t wait to hear about everyone’s adventures!

Just a few reminders before we return:

No lunchbox needed! Thanks to KidsCan, we will be providing morning tea and lunch for all children each day, so there is no need to pack a lunchbox.

Please remember to bring a bag with a change of clothes for your child, and nappies if required.

Contact details: We will be checking that everyone’s contact information is up to date. Please let us know if any of your emergency contacts, phone numbers, or addresses have changed.

Collection of children: For the safety of all tamariki, we are only able to let children leave kindergarten with people who are listed on their authorised contact list. If someone new will be collecting your child, please ensure they have been added to your child’s contact list before collection.

We can’t wait to see everyone next week and are looking forward to another fun-filled term of learning, friendships, and adventures together!
