BEEKEEPING FOR BEGINNERS COURSE

I will running another Level 3 Certificate in Apiculture this year, based in Dunedin.

It will go from the end of September 2024 through to May 2025. It will be about one weekend per month on average.

There are three spots left available.

Beekeeping For Beginners Course
Starting in Mosgiel area early October 2023. Practical skills based course. Very experienced Apiculture Tutor. One day a month on average (weekend). Cost $20 per hour for 5 hour day. Will train and mentor new beekeepers into first hive(s). Can supply bees and queens for new beekeepers. PM for further information.

BEEKEEPING COURSE 2017-2018 SEASON

Taratahi Agricultural Training Centre will run Beekeeping course throughout NZ again this year starting about July.
These courses are Level 3 and aimed at people wishing to start off in the industry. They are perfect for anyone wanting to keep bees as a hobby and cover the full range of beekeeping activities. They are run over about 16, day long workshops which are in weekends. The courses run through to about May 2017. You get a Beehive as part of the course. Anyone interested should contact Taratahi. Some courses can be oversubscribed so don't wait too long.

Neonic ban in Europe - UK overrides it for some pesticides in undisclosed decision, and are the pesticides effective? First crop returns indicate no significant fall despite warnings of 50% loss. The debate continues, but not necessarily in an open way:
