Kia hiwa rā! Kia hiwa rā!

E te whānau, kua rewa te mapi o te kura e whakatakoto ana i ngā tikanga mō te kōrero Māori i te kura. Ko ngā wāhanga kākāriki e mea ana he reo Māori anake te reo me whakamahia.

We have created a map of the kura that outlines areas that are 'reo Māori anake' (in green) and areas that can be reo rua (in red). This is part of our reo strategy for our kura, and we ask that when you come into kura, kia ū ki te kaupapa.

E mea ana Te Aho Matua: Nga Iwi 3.6
He mea hopu te nuinga o enei tuahua.

Thank you to everyone who attended our whānau hui last Thursday. The kōrero shared was truly moving and inspiring.

The kaupapa for the evening was the origins and establishment of our kura.

A special acknowledgement must go to whaea Sandra, whaea Annette, Charlene, Suz and the whānau. Thank you for agreeing to join us and for generously sharing your memories, experiences and kōrero about the early years of our kura.

Te Aho Matua states in Ngā Iwi 3.6:
Through experiencing the care, guidance, support, instruction and love of the whānau, the child develops a strong commitment to the whānau. Much of this learning is absorbed naturally. Therefore, it is important that whānau remain closely involved with their children at kura and in their learning.

These hui provide an opportunity for us to reconnect with the origins, values and sacrifices upon which our kura was established, so that we understand the kaupapa we have inherited and work together in developing the future direction of our kura.

Next whanau hui - Thursday 27 August at 5pm. Dinner provided - nau mai haere mai.

Kia ora e te whānau,

A big mihi to everyone who attended our whānau hui last Thursday! We had a fantastic turnout and gathered invaluable feedback and ideas that will directly shape our kura planning.

We will be holding another hui to keep that momentum going:

When: Thursday, 13 August at 5:00 pm

Where: Here at the kura

It would be wonderful to see you all again! If you weren't able to make the last one, you are so welcome to join us this time or send a whānau representative in your place.
