Our Toko senior A netball team has had an unforgettable week at the 15th International Netball Festival on the Gold Coast.

The girls represented our school with pride, determination, and great sportsmanship, finishing 10th overall in the Under 18 grade. Throughout the tournament, they embraced every challenge, celebrated their successes, and gained invaluable experience competing against talented teams from across Australia, Fiji, and New Zealand.

A huge congratulations to Saffron Healey, who was selected as our team’s Most Valuable Player. This is a well-deserved recognition of her outstanding performances and leadership throughout the tournament.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our whānau who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to help make this trip possible.

Finally, thank you to our incredible community for your generous donations, support and encouragement throughout this journey.

The weather has certainly been on our side, making for some fantastic days of outdoor netball here in Australia.

We’ve had some great games, celebrated a few wins, and learned plenty after coming up against some very strong Australian teams. Yesterday we had the opportunity to play Fiji, which was another fantastic experience for our team.

After the games, the girls enjoyed some well-earned downtime exploring Sea World, a great way to unwind and relax.

We’re back on court this morning, with Kaikōura up first. Wish us luck.

He mihi nui ki a koutou katoa! We extend our thanks to everyone who helped make yesterday’s THS Cultural Competition such a special occasion. To all of our performers who stood proudly, shared their talents, and represented themselves, their whānau, houses, and school with mana: it was fantastic to see such energy, confidence, creativity, and pride on display.

Thank you also to our judges for the time, care, and expertise you brought to the event, and to our manuhiri for the encouragement and support you gave throughout the competition. Your awhi helped make the event what it was!

Ngā mihi nui to everyone involved. These events remind us of the strength, diversity, and talent within our school community.
