Friends of Methven Primary School Our purpose is to provide pastoral care to families, organise social events for parents and/or families and co-ordinate fundraising activities.

All activities undertaken by the group must assist the school in its efforts to reach the school vision.

We would like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who supported our recent Makikihi Fries Fundraiser!

Thanks to the incredible support of our school and wider community, we achieved total sales of $4,260, resulting in an amazing profit of $1,384👏

Every bag purchased has made a real difference. All funds raised will go directly towards learning support at Methven Primary School, helping us provide additional resources and assistance to support our students' learning journeys.

We would like to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our fundraising night on 23 May 2026 such a phenomenal success 🎉 Held to raise funds for learning support at Methven Primary School, the evening truly exceeded expectations thanks to the incredible support of our community.

With around 250 people in attendance, the atmosphere on the night was nothing short of amazing. From our generous sponsors and those who donated auction and raffle items, to everyone who purchased tickets, attended, placed bids, and helped bring the evening together — this event simply wouldn’t have been possible without you and your support.

With 51 auction items on offer, there was something for everyone — all generously donated by local businesses. The main event was a hilarious performance by locals Amelia Guild and Emma Newborn, known as The Bi***es Box who had the entire room laughing non-stop. The live auction, hosted by the ever-entertaining George Manning, quickly became a highlight of the evening, even for those not bidding. The energy carried through as raffle winners were drawn - Congratulations to Dave Dynes, Shae Harkness, Anne Cooper, Karen Rodgers, and Marg McLeod - followed by a fun surprise with spot prizes hidden under chairs. The night wrapped up on a high, with the Manic Street Trio taking to the stage and keeping guests dancing well into the evening

It truly was a sensational evening and a very successful fundraiser for our school. Thanks to the incredible support of our community, the event raised an amazing $25,100.98 towards learning support at Methven Primary School 🙌

Thank you again to everyone involved. We are incredibly grateful to all businesses and individuals who donated. Every contribution made a difference ❤️
