Kia ora whanau and community,
Today we went for a hikoi to the community pantry. We have left lots of lemons!
We hope you enjoy them.
This afternoon we are planting our new lemon trees in our carpark edible garden.
This morning we had beautiful lemon and honey drinks too.
A lovely, lemony day at kaipara kids.

Kia ora e te whanau,
We have had a couple of great gardening weeks! Last week our children planted the new community gardens at Otamatea Community Services and they look fabulous. We are looking forward to checking on our plants regularly, and then using them to cook and share a meal with our local community in a couple of months time. This week we have had a trailer load of mulch delivered - thank you Mr Chris and the Underwood whanau. We have added this to our carpark gardens and will now add a layer of lovely soil ready for planting. We are so happy to see this progress and look forward to providing an amazing kai garden for our local community.
Kaipara Kids have spaces still available in our under 2's and over 2's areas, if you haven't been to visit us before, please do pop in. We have a lovely centre and are ready and waiting to meet and play with you.
We look forward to seeing you soon

Kia ora e te whanau,
We have built our new edible garden beds in our carpark and are now looking for soil or silage/hay to fill them up. We would love to use something recyclable and cheaper than filling the whole thing with soil and silage or hay is the perfect option for this.
Can you please let us know if you could help us with this? We would also love any cardboard you may have lying around home too as we would love to be putting little bits and pieces into the gardenes from the children and their whanau. This will all help to create beautiful connections to the gardens with our tamariki.
Next wednesday we are heading down to OCS community house to visit the new garden beds down there and begin some seed raising for them If you would like to be parent helper please let us know.
Thanks

A huge thank you to the wonderful team at the for bringing their fire truck along to Kaipara Kids today!

Our tamariki absolutely loved getting a close-up look inside the truck, learning about the equipment, and even having a turn using the fire hose!

Experiences like these help create valuable community connections for our tamariki, giving them the opportunity to learn about the important people and services that help keep our community safe.

We really appreciate you taking the time to visit and create such a fun and memorable experience for our children. Thank you for everything you do for our community.

Kia ora whanau and community,
Due to roll growth we have some openings for kaiako to join our amazing team of teachers. We have enjoyed steady growth this year and after a long lull after COVID, we are pleased to see many children in our community returning to ECE. We are looking for the right people to join our team and currently have vacancies in our over 2 and under 2 areas, as well as a lunch cover role.
These roles will suit someone either ECE qualified or studying towards an ECE qualification, or potentially an unqualified kaiako will also be considered. Full-time or part-time applicants will be considered for the teaching roles, and the lunch cover role is Monday - Friday 10:30-2.
Kaipara Kids is a beautiful small centre in the heart of Maungaturoto with a guiding philosophy centered around respect, ,love, and fun. This sums up our life here at KKELC, where tamariki are free to explore and guide their own play and experiences, loved, respected, and encouraged by an incredible team of responsive and experienced teachers. We enjoy a high percentage of qualified teachers, good professional learning opportunities, a supportive team and owners, and a lovely, respectful and happy team environment. Our learning environment continues to evolve and we welcome you to make use of our open-door policy - we are always proud to show you around. If you haven't visited us yet, please make the time to pop in and say Hi, whether you are a prospective kaiako or parent, we would love to see you.
Please contact [email protected] if you believe you may be right for any of these roles, if you know someone who may be, or if you are a family wishing to enrol.
We have spaces in our under 2's room and some spaces available in our over 2's room. We are running a waiting list for some days in our over 2's room and welcome you to pop in and put your name down.
Come and join the fun at KKELC!

Kia ora whanau and community,
We have a few requests to make and hope you might be able to help us.
1. We need a roller or compacter to compact our soil for our new turf area in our new babies play space.
2. We need someone to regularly pick up our food scraps - at least twice per week, buckets provided, just need to please rinse out the buckets and keep them rotating.
3. We are on the lookout for retaining wall timber and any other timber to finish our play space, new sandpit, and our carpark edible gardens.
4. Our children are super creative and artistic, and we are looking for somewhere that may be able to provide us with paper or card offcuts - perhaps there is a printing company around that could help us out?
If you can help us out with any of the above things, or know of someone who may be able to, please message us here or email us at [email protected]
Thank you - Kaipara Kids
