Hinuera School

Hinuera School Welcome to the Hinuera School community, where everyone plays a part in making our school an excitin The school has eight classrooms.

Welcome to the Hinuera School community, where everyone plays a part in making our school an exciting and thriving place to be. Our vision of “Learning and Growing” is at the heart of our school, and students are prepared for life by being encouraged to become self-managers and critical thinkers. Hinuera School was established in 1892 and it has a long tradition of providing quality education for

students. We cater for Year 1-6 children from the Hinuera and Matamata area. We aim to keep class numbers at manageable levels, and numbers in new entrant rooms in particular are kept low to enable children to have the best possible start to their learning. There is a strong emphasis on caring for each other throughout the school, from the youngest to the oldest student, and also on displaying our values of respect, resilience and responsibility. At Hinuera we are fortunate to have wonderful staff who have children’s learning and growing as their main focus. The Board of Trustees and PTA work closely with our staff to provide facilities and a learning environment that supports learning and teaching programmes. Significant changes have been made in recent years to ensure that resources and equipment are available to meet education needs of students and teachers. You are most welcome to visit our school. Please contact us to make an appointment.

Kia ora Hinni whānau,
Thank you to all of you who have supported Daffodil Day. There have been many guesses, some getting very close, and tomorrow some lucky person will win the lolly jar! (Last day for guesses tomorrow!)
Also, tomorrow is the yellow dress up day! Gold coin donation.

Kia ora Hinni whānau,

Ag Day is fast approaching, and it is time to start getting creative! Ag Day is a celebration for our entire community, even if you aren't bringing a calf, lamb, or kid.

Attached to this message, you'll find the list of events anyone can join—including the famous Man vs. Cake competition, as well as new activities like the Sustainability Challenge and the Colouring-in Competition. None of these events are compulsory (the colouring competition will be completed at school), but they are a great way for everyone to get involved.

We have also attached the activity details and the entry criteria for both the Sustainability Challenge and the Colouring-in Competition.

We are looking forward to a huge community turnout as we celebrate our rural traditions and bring everyone together!

Ngā mihi maioha.

Join Us for Coffee, Biscuits, and Conversation!

I warmly invite you to join us for a casual cup of coffee and a biscuit at school to learn more about our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and how you can get involved. Our PTA is the heartbeat of our school community, bringing parents and staff together to support our students and create fantastic opportunities for our Hinni Kids. Whether you’re looking to take on an active role, help out at occasional events, or simply share a few ideas, there is a place for everyone on the team. Come along for friendly conversation, a warm drink, and a low-pressure chance to see how you can make a difference—we would love to see you there!

Congratulations to this weeks Hinni Kids!
