Our philosophy at Kids Collective is founded on Magda Gerber's RIE approach. The basis of this is respect for children in everything that we do. It takes a lot of time and effort to ensure that all of our teaching team are knowledgeable and capable in respectful practice. So we have recently appointed the fabulous Katherine Cosgrove as our RIE Pedagogical leader.

Part of Katherine's job is to support our teaching team in the development of their RIE based practice so that they can be their best for our children.

Katherine is heading to Auckland for an intensive 10 day course in February "RIE Foundations" so that she can build her knowledge and understanding of this beautiful philosophy and share it with our wider teaching team.

Travel safely Katherine. We look forward to learning more from you soon. 🙂

Te Whāriki is the early childhood curriculum for ALL New Zealand children. This is the key aspiration for children. We reckon it's a pretty great goal for children.
Our mission is to work on this every day at Kids Collective.

The beginning of a new year is often when we all decide to make new resolutions or commitments. But by February these are already on the back burner.

Our commitments in 2022 are simple;
