Matamata Intermediate School

Matamata Intermediate School We Are a co-educational year 7 & 8 Intermediate School. This underpins all we do in our stimulating learning environment.

At Matamata Intermediate we welcome families and students into a unique environment with opportunities to develop the talents, confidence and independence of emerging adolescents in years 7 and 8. We pride ourselves on having open and effective communication with parents, whaanau and the wider community. Our school culture is based on the core virtues of commitment, common-sense and consideration

– known as the 3Cs. We have a strong focus on eLearning and all children are welcome to bring their own digital device. At MI we encourage a growth mind set to support the development of perseverance and resilience . Our students are offered a wide range of academic, cultural and sporting activities by teachers who are focused on high standards of best practice in teaching and learning. The total well-being of each of our students, celebrating success, progress and commitment is very important to us.

Today, we also celebrated the Concert Band in assembly. On Thursday, they went to the Waikato Regional Junior Schools Music Festival and were given a SILVER Award! Very deserving and shows the hard work they have put into getting ready for this performance. Thanks to all our helpers for making it happen 🥰
