Sadly, this morning a tree fell from Centennial Drive through the fence and onto our lovely new playground!
McPhersons's have been busy all day removing the tree, but it appears to have caused some major damage to the playground and the fence.

We will be cordoning off the area, but ask that people stay off the playground whilst we work on assessing the damage and arranging for it to be repaired as it is unsafe.

Daffodil Day: Friday 28th August - Dress-up Day

Don't forget, this Friday is Daffodil Day! For a gold coin donation, Daffodil Day is a NO uniform day here at St Joseph's. The money will go to the Daffodil Day collection. We are asking children to dress in bright colours if they can, yellow or orange for daffodil day is even better if possible.

For our School Cross-Country this year is a Colour Run.

Wow! So far the students have raised $1200! That is an amazing effort. Well done.

Here are a few photos from the Festival today. We were very proud of how our children performed today at the Kapa Haka Festival. Thank you so much to Intermediate for hosting a wonderfully organised event, and to all the people that made it happen. It is a great experience for the children to perform on stage in front of so many people, and to also watch the other schools perform. What incredible talent there is at our local schools

IMPORTANT NOTICE: School Photos: Postponed to the 10th September, 2026

Unfortunately, with so much illness around and children away from school, we decided to contact PhotoLife to ask if it was possible to change the date of our school photos. Luckily they had a spot for us on 10th September from 9am. We hope by this stage most children will be well and back at school. Please note this new date in your calendar.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, but we want as many children as possible in our school photo for this year 🙂

Daffodil Day is approaching, 28th August.

1 in 3 New Zealanders face a Cancer diagnosis, so as a school we are supporting the Cancer Society through Daffodil Day this year. Daffodil Day helps fund support services that can make the hardest moments a little less lonely, including accommodation during treatment, local check-ins, and access to counselling and practical support. Because cancer doesn’t just affect one person. It affects partners, kids, parents, friends, the whole whānau.
