Solway School Community Update
Curriculum Information Evening – Wednesday 17 June, 6:00pm–7:00pm
We warmly invite parents and whānau to join us for a Curriculum Information Evening in the school hall. We will explain the Government's new curriculum changes, what they mean for teaching and learning at Solway, and how they will impact the way student achievement is reported to families. The standards at many year levels are changing, and this is a great opportunity to understand what those changes may look like for your child.
ERO Visit Update
A huge thank you to our staff, students, Board members and wider community for helping showcase everything that makes Solway special during this week's Education Review Office (ERO) visit.
While the final written report will not be available for another month or two, the initial feedback presented to us at the conclusion of the visit was very positive. ERO particularly praised the quality of teaching and learning across the school, the support provided for students, and our strong focus on wellbeing, inclusion and relationships.
As always, there will be a few areas identified for us to continue improving, but we are extremely pleased with the feedback received so far and proud of what our staff and community have achieved together.
Cross Country Fundraiser Thank You
A massive thank you to our incredible community for the outstanding support shown for this week's Inter School Cross Country sausage sizzle and bake sale. The generosity of families who baked, volunteered, donated and purchased items was simply amazing. Events like these are only possible because of the wonderful community spirit that exists at Solway.
Pizza Fridays Are Coming!
The Friends of Solway's fundraising efforts aren't slowing down! Starting next Friday, students will be able to order lunch through our new Pizza Friday fundraiser.
