Tēnā koutou whanau, we had a busy week of learning. Nga tamariki have enjoyed connecting with the natural environment. We have been lucky to see many monarch caterpillars grow and watch the life cycle of the butterfly (metamorphosis). We currently have 10 chrysalis on and around the swan plants. We have also spotted praying mantis and checked on our worm farm. Autumn is a fun time to rack the leaves and collect seed pods. A small group of Tamariki harvested some very large feijoas from our orchard to share in our pataka kai box. Tamariki have been engaged in butterfly puzzles, books, and songs. Artwork also reflects the interest in the life cycle of the butterfly. On Thursday we farewelled Riley who will continue her learning journey at school.

We hope you all have a great weekend nga mihi from the teaching team.

Tēnā koutou whanau, we had a busy week of learning. We hope you are all doing fine after the storm. All kindergartens were closed on Monday. Due to this we missed out on our teacher only day. We have rescheduled for Friday 13th of March. On Tuesday we celebrated Liam's Happy school days, we wish him well on his learning journey. Casey supported the children to bake a blackberry cake. Made with our very own blackberries. The children seem to be very interested in construction particularly making houses.
We hope you all have a great weekend nga mihi from the teaching team.

Kia ora whanau, week 2 has been a mixed bag of weather. So nice to finish the week with a sunny day. The art area has been a hive of activity. Children have enjoyed making kites and masks. The garden has been a source of discovery with the monarch caterpillars. Our sun flowers have finished flowering, so we have taken the heads to gather the seeds for next spring. Today we received our new table to replace the old one. We hope you have a wonderful weekend. Nga mihi from the teaching team

Tēnā koutou whanau, wow what a very hot week we have had. Nga tamariki played in the shade and with lots of water activities. Last night we held our first Christmas Disco. We had a wonderful turn out of whanau. Children danced with their peers, teachers and parents. We ended with a visit from Father Christmas who handed out ice blocks.

Next week is our last week for the year. The last day is Friday 19th Dec and our first back is Monday 12th January 2026. To the whanau who have finished with us this week we wish you a very Meri Kirihimete and a happy new year.

We hope you all have a restful weekend from the Lansdowne teaching team.
