🇵🇭 Celebrating culture at our place: It is wonderful to learn more about other cultures and it was great to see our Vietnamese international students joining in and learning about Filipino language week. Embracing and sharing our different cultures is enriching for us all.

Yusuke Sato, an exchange student from Japan in 1990, visited PHS for a tour of the campus and a trip down memory lane. He had many great memories of the school, teachers and classmates, which he shared with his young son. He was so happy to find himself in the Football First XI photo on the wall in the senior canteen.
It is wonderful that his time here was so special that he wanted to return 36 years later! That’s what international education is all about, creating great experiences and memories that last a lifetime 😊

Yunfan from China had an amazing week at PHS! He joined Year 10 classes with a local buddy, enjoyed a cultural day with a tour group, and lived the true Kiwi lifestyle with his wonderful homestay family. Thanks for choosing us, Yunfan. It was a joy to host you!🇨🇳❤️🇳🇿

A warm welcome on a chilly day to our newest school community members! 🌞
It was an absolute pleasure to formally welcome five new international students into our school whānau (family) with a traditional mihi whakatau. 🇻🇳🇮🇳🇨🇳 They were joined by a small group of visiting teachers from Japan.🇯🇵 These educators are spending time at our school to learn about New Zealand’s education system and experience school life from a teaching perspective. Nau mai, haere mai! Welcome to our place!❤️🇳🇿🤗

Wishing everyone a joyful and peaceful Matariki. May this season of renewal bring time to reflect, celebrate with whānau and friends, and look ahead with hope and purpose. Thank you for all that you do for our students and our school community. Kia kaha, kia māia, kia manawanui.

Matariki ahunga nui — Matariki, the harbinger of abundance.
Ngā mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa.
