Kia Orana Moanaroa whānau!
This week, Moanaroa School is proud to celebrate 'Epetoma o te Reo Māori Kūki 'Airani – Cook Islands Māori Language Week.
We are especially proud that almost 20% of our student body proudly identifies as Cook Islands Māori. This week provides a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate the rich language, culture, traditions, and identity that are such an important part of our school community.
The theme for this year is:
"Me kite koe i te tuatua i to’ou reo tupuna, e turanga rangatira tena nō’ou no te uki amuri atu - With our language as our foundation, we will embrace the future."
Throughout the week, our students will be taking part in a range of exciting learning experiences and celebrations that honour Te Reo Māori Kūki 'Airani and the vibrant Cook Islands culture.
We encourage all of our families and whānau to keep an eye out for the wonderful activities, learning, and celebrations happening across the school this week. We look forward to sharing these special moments with you and celebrating together.

We're excited to share the very first edition of Moanaroa Moments—celebrating our people, our learning, and our story.
A huge thank you to our Principal, Ms. Sialele Pulou, for bringing together this first edition.
🏆 Congratulations to Hiringa 8 for leading Week 1 attendance with an outstanding 94.8%! Attendance has been fantastic across the kura, with the competition already so close. Keep it up, everyone!

📢 IMPORTANT: Moanaroa School Uniform Update
Kia ora e te whānau,
Our new Moanaroa School uniforms will be available to order during Term 4 for the 2027 school year.
Until then, students will continue to wear our current red and black Kingsford uniform for the remainder of this year.
We’ll share more information, including ordering details and key dates, in Term 4.
