"A robot that’s designed for elderly and people with disabilities to take wheelie bins to and from the kerb, has won 17-year-old Christchurch school student Thomas James the Prime Minister’s 2019 Future Scientist Prize. A year 13 student at Burnside High School, Thomas designed “Wheelie Drive” after noticing his elderly neighbour and grandparents struggled to use their wheelie bins."

Due to recent events Skills Bright Sparks has made the decision to take a break this year in order to keep everyone safe and healthy. This was a tough decision but we feel it’s the best way forward right now.
The good news is this gives you another year to perfect your project! Self-isolation is a great time to pick up that old invention or start a new one! Let’s keep the creative juices flowing, & we look forward to seeing all your bright ideas in 2021.
