Hi Mangatangi whanau,

We have just been informed this evening there will be road works starting tomorrow morning at 7:30am on Kaiaua Road, working towards school.
We have been told they should be finished by 1:30pm.

There will be stop and go control so it is suggested you leave a little bit earlier than usual.

🌟 A Little Uniform Update & Reminder🌟

Kia ora whānau,

We have a few exciting uniform updates and friendly reminders as we head into the rest of the year! 😊

👕 New uniform flexibility!
We are pleased to let you know that students can now wear either the school polo shirt OR the sports shirt in any term. We hope this gives families a little more flexibility and makes getting ready for school that much easier!

📸 A little exception: For school trips, special events and school photos, students will need to wear their school polo shirt.

🧦 Socks, please!
Please help us keep our uniform looking smart by ensuring students wear PLAIN black or plain white socks only. We are noticing skins creeping back into the school uniform, so a friendly reminder that these are not part of our school uniform.

🧥 School jumpers only, please!
Students should wear school-branded jumpers rather than non-school hoodies or jumpers. Interestingly, we currently have over 12 school jumpers sitting in lost property! 😲 Please have a quick look through lost property — you might just find a missing treasure!

✏️ Please name everything!
A huge help to our staff is making sure ALL uniform items are clearly named. This makes it so much easier to return lost items to their owners (and saves our lost property pile from becoming a mountain! 😂).

💡 A gentle reminder about incorrect uniform:
If a student comes to school wearing an item that isn't part of the school uniform, the item will be respectfully removed and kept at school. Students will be able to collect it at the end of the school day to take home.

We really appreciate your support in helping our tamariki look smart, feel proud and represent Mangatangi School with our usual Manaakitanga. ❤️

Our first round of our Mini Soccer World Cup! It was so awesome to see all our younger and older tamariki playing and working together! Kia mau te wehi!

Kia ora whanau,

We are writing to let you know that our school will be conducting a routine lockdown practice today.

These regular drills help our students and staff practice what to do if we ever need to gather indoors and stay inside during an emergency. Before the drill begins, all children will be clearly informed that it is only a practice so they feel calm, prepared, and supported throughout the exercise.

If your child mentions the practice when they come home today, you can reassure them that they did a great job learning how to stay safe.

Congratulations to all of our runners who took part in the Franklin Zone Cross Country Race yesterday! Our fairly tiny school certainly knows how to represent! 🤩 We are proud of you all for representing Mangatangi School with such great effort and attitudes!
