Awesome day in Tui class today. We had fun hosting the Taiwanese students from Te Aroha College. Cooked up a storm with different kiwi delicacies ranging from pizza to rice bubble slice to fry bread and of course the kiwi classic...pavlova plus many others.
Took them into the Gully and played volleyball with them. Just a whole lot of fun...and mud!

Thank you to all of the whanau who joined in planting day. You were amazing and made the experience incredibly positive for all of our learners.
Thank you Tim from Trees for Survival. He is great to work with and supports learning at Manawaru School.
We benefited from having such great role models as we build our gully to be a place of learning and fun!
It was a great day!

We are looking forward to getting our plants in the ground tomorrow morning at 8.45 am.
Yip it looks like a cold start so please wrap kids up well.
Families have had several notices we know but we want to make this an experience that isn’t totally focused on cold!
Please send your children ready to dig. Spades, warm clothes, gloves, a change of clothes, parents and a great attitude will make the planting go quickly!
We welcome all parent help. We have not dug any holes. The last few years we have had a head start by digging holes in advance.
We know families are busy. All help is appreciated.

You are doing more than digging holes.
You are showing your children how to be part of a community.

This looks like a great celebration!

Reporting i
Your child’s report is on its way! Reports will be available through Hero on 3 July 2026, if all goes to plan.
These reports will be followed by our student-led conferences after the holidays.
The reports reflect the reporting changes mandated for 2026. As we continue to refine our reporting processes, you can expect our end-of-year reports to evolve further.
We have worked hard to keep the reporting language as clear and straightforward as possible. However, there may still be some terms or information that are unfamiliar. If there is anything you don't understand, please ask us when you attend your child's student-led conference.
The information in your child's report has been gathered from a range of sources, including:
Teacher observations and professional judgement based on classroom learning
Evidence from workbooks and class activities
Assessment information, including PAT assessments for some students and a range of other curriculum-specific assessments
Student self-assessment
We hope these reports provide you with more detailed information about your child's learning than ever before. We also hope there are no surprises for you as whānau. If there is anything in the report that surprises or concerns you, please let us know so we can continue to strengthen our communication with you.
Please take the time to read through the report with your child. They will have valuable insights to share about their learning, and this is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their progress and achievements together.
During next term's student-led conferences, your child will guide you through their learning, explain their next learning steps, and help ensure you leave with a clear understanding of how they are progressing.
By working together, we can provide the best possible support for every child's learning.
