Good Morning, I hope you all are having a fantastic Saturday morning! The weather today demonstrates how much fun we have had at Bay of Plenty Educare. This week has been wet and super cold! However, with being school holidays we thought we would have our own school holiday day fun.
We started the week with Pajama day, made our own Pizza, brought our teddies to have a picnic, dressed up in costumes, and then we ended the week with wacky hair!
I know that I certainly had lots of enjoyment this week, which means that the children must have too, check out our pictures of all the smiles!

What an absolutely amazing week it has been. Last week, I was asked by the children to read a firetruck book over and over again.
We decided as a team to extend this interest, so we learnt new songs, (hurry, hurry drive the firetruck and I'm a little firefighter). We made our own firefighters hat, and went on the rescue to put out the fire that was outside.
We also made a firetruck and buildings to carry on this pretend play!
The children learnt so much through these experiences and they had so much fun too!
After the school holidays we hope to visit the fire station and extend this interest even more!

Dear parents/whanau

We are very happy to announce that Bay of Plenty Educare will start FREE picking up and dropping off services with effect from 14/03/2022.

We hope some of our busy parents will find this as a great help. We are very thankful to Mamaku School for letting us use their mini van for this purpose.

A staff member who is police vetted with a NZ drivers licence will be picking up your child/ children from your home between 8.45 -9.00 am and will be dropping off the children between 3.00-3.15pm.

If you have a sibling or siblings attending the Mamaku School, we are very happy to pick them up and drop off as a part of this service.

Happy Diwali!
We just want to say a huge thankyou to Manraaj and his whanau for kindly giving us some Indian decorations, sweets and an Indian rangoli activity, as you can see the children really loved learning about another culture. Learning about different cultures, children are able to understand and recognize that there are many different cultures and all are individually diverse. It also teaches children to celebrate one another.
Diwali is know for the festival of light and people decorate their homes in festive colours, for many people Diwali honours the Hindu goddess of wealth (Lakshmi). The lights and lamps are said to help Lakshmi find her way into people's homes.

Kia Ora Whanau, would there be an interest to have a zoom meeting call with all the children?
I was thinking of doing a mini mat time and a catch up with everyone.

New Zealand is at Alert level 4 for 3 days starting midnight tonight
Bay Of Plenty Educare will be closed to all children for the next 3 days

Mamaku has given us a beautiful day to have wheels day!! Over the last couple of weeks as you know we have been talking about the olympics and we have been trying out some of those sports. Some children mentioned that they could bike faster than a car!! It was so nice to see the children putting their minds and body to the test, these skills are all going to benefit them in the future.
