Life doesn't always follow the timeline we have planned.
I'm currently in one of those in-between chapters, taking the opportunity to pause, reflect and prepare for what's next. While I'm actively taking steps towards my next role, I've realised this is also a chance to invest in something that's often overlooked... myself.
As coaches and leaders, we're often the first to encourage others to back themselves, embrace change and keep learning. The challenge comes when it's time to take our own advice.
So that's exactly what I'm doing.
I'm prioritising my health and wellbeing, getting stronger, doing the work to build a more resilient back, challenging the unhelpful stories we can all tell ourselves, learning new things, reconnecting with people, and reminding myself that growth doesn't stop just because your circumstances change.
I'm choosing to see this period not as standing still, but as building momentum.
Sometimes the biggest investment we can make isn't in our career—it's in ourselves. Because when the right opportunity comes along, I want to be ready for it, both professionally and personally.
The inspiration for this photo came from putting on a pair of borrowed running shoes at 7am on a cold, wet and windy Saturday morning and driving 45 minutes to the coast to tackle what was billed as the *"second hardest Parkrun in the UK."*
It turned out to be my favourite Parkrun yet... and I even managed to squeeze in a mid-run selfie on the beach!
**Moral of the story?** The things that seem the hardest are often the ones that give you the biggest reward. So back yourself, embrace the challenge, and do hard things. They might just become your favourite memories.
