Regional Athletics Tuesday 26th November.
LHPSSA check in will be located in the Team Mangers area next to the main entry.
Here you can self check-in and borrow a LHPSSA shirt.
We only have limited numbers so please return once you have used and check off again.
If there is a parent that can assist in this location please let me know. (we have some students assisting part of the day)
LHPSSA are on the Long Jump stations for the day and still have gaps in the Y8 and Y4 rotation.
PLEASE try and carpool with other families from your school. Parking is very limited and the wardens will be out towing and ticketing.

Final results from yesterdays Interzone event have not yet been finalised online.
Your School with advise if your child is progressing onto the Regional event on the 26th of November.
LHPSSA is required to lead on the Long Jump stations and we will need at least 8 PARENTS/ Y10 or above siblings/ cousins to volunteer their time to assist on this.
This is a condition for LHPSSA to participate in Regional Events.
Tuesday 19th November Interzone Athletics
Our 1st Events begin at 9.30am.
- Year 7/8 Discus is 9.30- 10am.
- 1500 and 800m Track you need to be at marshalling area for 9.15am. Races start at 9.30am.
I understand the traffic could be heavy but we will not be able to delay events as its a full schedule.
Faultline Coffee will be again there to keep us going with Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolates and cold bottled water.
I collected several drink bottles, hats and some shoes from last week. Please call past the Marquee to collect.

We are fortunate to again have High School students assisting with the day alongside the Teachers and Parents on the different rotations.
At this stage we potentially need a few more parents to help on some of the events.
Come and see me if your able to assist.

South East/ West Athletics will be at Hutt Recreation Grounds tomorrow 12th November.
Faultline Coffee will be there with Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolates, Bottled water, Cookie Time cookies and some Chocolate Bars.
Your child's School has all the details for the event but you will also find by the main Marquee the Event Timetable and Map of venue.
We are still in need a a RACE STARTER volunteer.
This position can be a parent but you would be assisting at the start line for the day.
Results can take a few days to work though and your School will advise if progressing onto the Interzone event.
Athletic’s will still go ahead today at Hutt Recreation Grounds. It’s looking like rain from afternoon so please ensure you have warm clothing. We are still short on Parent volunteers to run a Long Jump and High a jump.

We have MATS Timing again this year looking after our results.

All Track events will load automatically but the Field events will have a delay as these are added in Manually.
*** There are still volunteer positions required to be filled.
Please contact your school if you can help them on the station they are based on ***
- Please keep clear of the 100m track and finish line area.
- Any questions on the day should always go to your Sports Coordinator.
- There are two water fountains at the venue
- Dogs are not permitted in grandstand and must be on a lead at all times.
- Students are required to wear shoes when competing in events

Each event is scheduled for the Tuesday with the postponement day being Thursday.
Your Child's School will advise who has qualified to attend on behalf of each school and send out the information needed for the day.
These events require full support from families to be a successful.
If you can assist on the day as a Marshall or leading a field event please let your school know now as we have many roles to fill.
Congratulations to all of the students who attended the Interzone event today representing your school.
Results will be sent to the sport coordinators next week.

Festivals are an important part of our LHPSSA Calendar events.
Today we have Year 1-4 students and next week Year 5-8.
Walter Nash is a fantastic venue and LHPSSA was able to fund this booking along with our Dodgeball and Basketball Festival Hire through a grant from Pelorus Trust.
Our Festival Events are about giving it a go and focused on building confidence, learning new skills and having a fun day out.

Regional Cross Country Thursday 4th July
Please remember to check in to the LHPSSA area and collect your Race Shirt on arrival. (return at end of race)
This will be self managed by parents as only a few Schools are sending a staff member to this event.
If you can assist on the desk then please offer your time to help keep things run smoothly.
Thank you to the Parents who have offered to assist on the Finish Chute with me.
It will be a chilly day with the Southerly breeze forecasted so ensure you have plenty of layers.

Lower Hutt Primary Schools Sports Association is the organisation which oversees all Inter-Zone Year 1-8 primary school sport within Lower Hutt.
The purpose of the LHPSSA is to promote and contribute towards the furthering of sport in Lower Hutt Primary Schools. LHPSSA provide opportunities for students of all abilities to play and develop new skills through school, zone, interzone and regional events.
