Kia ora whānau!
Change of venue for kai to the community today — we’ll be at **St Matthew’s Taitā, 53 Reynolds Street**, as there are awards taking place at the Walter Nash Centre today.
Please feel free to come along. We’ll also have soups provided by **Saint Vincent de Paul**. 🍲
Also we have all our usual 😁
Everyone is welcome!

Over the past few months, Te Kāhui Tuhono has continued to grow through our weekly gatherings, shared experiences, and support for one another. Our rōpū has remained active, connected, and committed to whakawhanaungatanga.
We have enjoyed a couple of outings together, including commemorating ANZAC Day and attending the movie about Sargent Haane Manahi of the 28th Maori Battalion. Creating time to connect and enjoy each other’s company. We have also welcomed organisations into our space to share information about the services and support available for our members and hapori.
Through laughter, life, loss, listening, learning, and leaning on one another, our rōpū continues to grow stronger together.

Kia ora whānau 💛
Just a quick update to let you know we’re still on for Kai to the Community today at the St. St Matthew’s Taitā
We know the weather across the Wellington Region is pretty rough at the moment – cold, wet, and windy 🌧️💨 – so please take care if you’re heading out. If you do come down, make sure to wrap up warm.
We’ll have fruit, veges, and a few extra bits available for those who need it. As always, please remember it’s 1 bag per household so we can make sure everyone gets a share.
We’re here from 2pm until the kai is gone – would be lovely to see you all.
Ngā mihi 💛

Kia ora e te whānau
Due to current weather warnings and the State of Emergency, our office will be closed on Tuesday. Our kaimahi will be working remotely and still available to support where needed.
Please take care and follow safety advice - keep travel to essential trips only, secure your homes, and check in on our kaumātua and vulnerable whānau.
For updates, stay connected with your local council and WREMO page.
Ngā mihi, stay safe everyone 🤍

Te Kāhui Tuhono Hui
We started our day with karakia, waiata, and some korikori to get everyone moving. After that, we did a short exercise and had a kōrero about what our rōpū is about and what we would like to see for each other while we are together.
It was a really positive discussion and a good reminder that our rōpū is about people, connection, manaaki, and supporting each other.

Kai to the Community
This week marked our second week supporting our hapori in Taitā and Pomare with kai. It’s been great to awhi, tautoko and manaaki our whānau.
We’ve introduced a simple sign-in system to help the flow—once your name is called, you can come forward to collect your kai. Kai ika will be available at the front as you head out.
Next week, we’ll have tea and coffee ready for those who arrive early and want to relax.
Please remember to bring your own bag and a smile 😊
Ngā mihi nui to our volunteers—this mahi isn’t possible without you.

Te Kāhui Tuhono – Weekly Kōrero
He iti te rōpū i tēnei rā, with a few of our taonga away attending to health and whānau matters. Ka aroha, we held them in our thoughts and look forward to seeing them back soon.
We were grateful to have Louisa join us from Takiri Mai Te Ata Regional Stop Smoking Service, sharing support and guidance for those wanting to stop smoking. It was a meaningful kōrero, focused on manaaki and encouraging our whānau to take positive steps toward better hauora.
We also spent time discussing the rising petrol prices and what that might mean for our upcoming outings. There was whakaaro around possibly pausing trips over the next few months while costs remain high.
As always, it was good to come together, share whakaaro, and support one another.
Noho ora mai, keep safe, and we’ll see you all next week.
Mauri ora.

If you or someone you know could use some aloe vera, there's a massive amount available placed along the berm outside 1401 High Street, Pomare (Lower Hutt).
Please feel free to head over and help yourself, it’s all free.
Ngā mihi 🌿
