RATA STREET OSCAR PROGRAMME
Before/After School Care & Holiday Programme. We are based at Rata Street School in the hall. We are CYFS and OSCAR approved.

We are a childcare service that cater to children of ages 5-13. A very community-based programme, that get out and about helping the community and the people in it when needed. We provide 'Before school care', 'After school care' and 'Holiday Programme'. Due to extreme weather conditions, Rata Street Oscar Programme will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday 21st April. The school is closed also. Stay safe out there xx

MetService has issued a red heavy rain warning for Wellington City, Lower Hutt, and Wairarapa, with heavy rain forecast until 9pm on Tuesday 21 April.

As the rain continues falling on us, avoid travelling in severe weather. Always check our page before you travel to see if state highways are affected. Follow us if you aren’t already.

If you absolutely must travel:

• slow down
• increase your following distance
• turn your headlights on dipped
• don’t drive through any floodwater, even if it looks shallow.

Floodwater can be very dangerous – it's hard to see how deep flooding is and how fast the water is moving, and you won't be able to see if the road is damaged beneath the surface of the water. It's easy to lose control of your vehicle even in shallow water.

Wellington Region Emergency Management Office has declared a state of emergency for the Wellington region to support the response to ongoing severe weather, flooding and infrastructure impacts.

PARENTS of Rata Street Oscar Programme children, a red weather warning has been issued. A hutt councilor has said our area is not safe. Please collect your children early if you can.
