Maungaraki School

The Koru team has been busy! Here’s what they have been up to:

Room 10 has been learning new fitness games and building teamwork by working with different classmates.
Room 11 have been talking about how they want to learn together this year, playing lots of collaborative games and showing kindness to each other.
Room 12 has been measuring our standing broad jumps, calculating our mean and range and graphing our class data.
Room 13 has been busy learning about all kinds of poems. We have made our own poetry books to share with our whānau, filled with great descriptive language and awesome illustrations.

Kia Ora everyone,

We hope that you are all safe and warm. It has been a challenging day up on the hill and in the wider area. Please reach out if we can help in any way.

We have completed an assessment of the buildings and surrounding grounds, and have been lucky enough to escape without too much damage. We are also pleased to have the power back on!

Therefore, at this stage, we will be open as normal tomorrow at Maungaraki School.

Some of the Ponga students kicked off their very first Waihanga sessions today. We have two great projects currently underway:
With Mr. Young and Nick, students are engaging in product design, building custom swing-arm lamps featuring their own unique shade designs. With Miss C, students are using food technology techniques to transform raw produce into unique, shelf-stable pantry items.

A very special welcome to our newest students and their families who have recently joined our Maungaraki community. Whether you are starting your very first day of school or joining Maungaraki School from elsewhere, it is wonderful to be part of your learning journey!

School is back!!! The teachers are all extremely busy getting ready for your Tamariki to be back next Tuesday. We are really excited about the year ahead. We hope you have had a relaxing break and enjoyed some family time.

On Monday, we welcome you to come into school from 1pm till 2pm to drop off stationery to your child's class, catch up with your child's teacher and connect with the Maungaraki Community.

We had a lovely evening last week, farewelling our Year 8s for 2025. We have an amazing group of young adults leaving our kura this year. This time of the year is always bittersweet, but we are so excited to see where their talents take them.

A reminder about our Market Day tomorrow. Stalls will be open from 2pm for students and from 3pm for families.

🍕 It’s that time again – end of term Pizza Lunch! 🎉

We’re finishing Term 4 with our traditional Pizza Fundraiser, but this time it is NOT on a Friday! Pizza Lunch will instead be on Tuesday, 16th December this year.
Orders are to be made through Lunchonline.co.nz. Orders close at 7pm the night before (Monday 15th), so please ensure that you make your orders before the deadline so your child does not miss out. Unfortunately, we will not be taking late orders.
