Watching confidence grow, one letter at a time. ✏️💜
Providing meaningful opportunities for our tamariki to explore writing helps build confidence, concentration, fine motor skills, and a love for literacy. Every attempt is worth celebrating!

Concentration levels: 100%! ✏️🤭
Our Transition to School tamariki have been busy creating their own stories, using their imaginations to bring ideas to life. Through dedicated opportunities for story writing and storytelling, they’re building early literacy skills, confidence, creativity, and communication—all while having fun.
Every story is another step towards a confident and successful transition to school. 💛📚

🚑 A Visit from St John Ambulance 🚑
Today we were lucky to welcome the amazing team from St John Ambulance to Lollipops Waiwhetu! 💚
Our tamariki had the opportunity to learn all about ambulances, what they look like inside, and what might happen if they ever needed to ride in one. The St John team helped take away some of the fear by explaining that ambulances are safe places filled with kind people whose job is to help us when we’re sick or hurt.
There were lots of curious questions, thoughtful conversations, and eager hands raised as our tamariki learned about the important role our emergency services play in keeping our community safe.
A huge thank you to the St John team for taking the time to share your knowledge and help our tamariki feel confident and reassured. 💚🚑

🏉🖤 Game day spirit is in the air! 🖤🏉
Sam and some of our tamariki are proudly backing the All Blacks ahead of this weekend’s big game! 🙌 From jerseys to big smiles, we’re getting into the rugby spirit and showing our support.
Good luck to the boys in black—we’ll be cheering you on all the way! 🏉⚫️
Before Matariki, our little gardeners in the Kākāpō Room got their hands dirty planting sunflower seeds together. 🌻✨
As we celebrate Matariki, we’re embracing the values of new beginnings, hope, and growth. Just like these tiny seeds, we know that with love, care, and patience, amazing things can bloom. 💚
We can’t wait to watch our sunflowers grow alongside our tamariki over the coming weeks! 🌱🌞

📚✨ One story, so many learning moments! ✨📚
There’s something truly special about sharing a book together. 💙 Through stories, our tamariki build language, spark their imagination, strengthen relationships, and develop a lifelong love of reading.
At Lollipops Waiwhetū, we know that some of the biggest learning happens in the quietest moments. 📖💕

And after a thorough inspection of today’s outfits… we’re pleased to report there wasn’t a Chiefs fan in sight! 🤭😂
