Tuesday was the last session of the year for the fantastic TNT Ukulele group. From a small group this year grow to over 20 people!!! It is not a surprise because they have a great teacher and it is such a friendly group. You can join them next year, there are ukulele instruments to share and you do not need to know how to play it. If you are interested contact TNT ([email protected]) by the end of January or drop by to one of their sessions (Tuesdays 1:30 - 3:00pm at Te Mako Naenae Community centre, 27 Hillary Court) from the 10th of February 2026

We’re on a short two-week break, but will be back strumming on Tuesday 7 October, 1:30–3pm

From first chords to full performances last Saturday’s student concert was a reminder of how far practice and perseverance can take you. Couldn’t be prouder of the effort everyone put in.

We kicked off with two full-orchestra pieces featuring ukulele, piano, recorders, violin, flute, and of course, guitars 🎶. After that, our guitar groups (18 kids strong!) took the stage on their own for two dedicated performances, showing just how far they’ve come this year.

To close out the guitar set, a special shout-out to a young student in his final year, who delivered two legendary intros Hotel California (Eagles) and Nothing Else Matters (Metallica). A perfect send-off to his time with us.

Every group had their moment to shine, and together it made for a morning full of music, courage, and connection.

Teaching music isn’t just about scales and songs; it’s about helping students grow in confidence and express themselves through music. Well done team! 👏
