Our Samoan Language Week celebration and assembly this afternoon were a wonderful way to come together as a school community.
Throughout the day, our tamariki learnt about Samoan myths, explored Samoan art, and enjoyed a delicious lunch of sapasui and panikeke as part of our celebrations.
A huge thank you to our talented tamariki who performed and hosted, and to our dedicated kaiako, Miss Steere, Miss Hetutu, and Whaea Emma, for all the hard work and organisation that made the day such a success.
We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the aiga who joined us for the assembly. Your support, presence and waiata helped make the occasion even more special.
What a fantastic way to celebrate Samoan Language Week at our kura! 🌺🇼🇸

Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa (Samoan Language Week) is an annual celebration across Aotearoa promoting and protecting the Samoan language - the third most spoken language in New Zealand.
The 2026 theme is "E afua mai i mauga tetele manuia o le nu'u" ("From the high mountains are the blessings of the village"). This emphasizes that strength, guidance, and well-being flow from deep foundations like family, faith, and leadership.
We are looking forward to our Samoan Language Week/Samoan Independence Day Celebration on Friday. Keep an eye on our page for pictures.

We are incredibly proud to congratulate past student Brian Lee Watson on the release of his new children’s book, The Little Aussie Tractor: My New Home! 🚜
This story follows a forgotten little tractor who is given a second chance when a young boy and his grandfather bring him to a new home on the farm. The book celebrates kindness, resilience, family, and finding where you belong, with some fun tractor trivia and activities included too!
A huge thank you to Brian for generously donating copies to our school library. We know our students are going to love reading and sharing this special story.
Congratulations, Brian, on this amazing achievement! 👏
