Next week is CAA and Derived Grade Exam (DGE) Week!

Have you been preparing?

If you are sitting a CAA exam, make sure you know your NZQA Learner Login details and have been practising past exam papers - your English, Maths, and LAR teachers can provide these for you.

If you are sitting a DGE, make sure you have been revising your notes from class and practising past exam papers - these can be found on the NZQA website or through your subject teacher.

Your DGEs are important because:

1. They're great practice and preparation for your final exams. They can also give you a good idea of where you're at and what you might need to work on.

2. If something unexpected happens and you can't take your final exams for a legitimate reason, your Derived Grade Exam results may be used to support a derived grade.

On Monday, some of our Senior students were invited to parliament for the announcement of the government's proposed social media ban for under-16s. Josiah, Kelly, Lily, and Peter shared their diverse opinions with the politicians involved and RNZ. They were particularly excited to sit in both the Prime Minister's and Speaker of the House's chairs in the Chamber of the House of Representatives! Tino pai to these passionate tauira!

The absolute highlight of Friday’s Wellington Open Day was being welcomed by our ex-Naenae College students. Seeing them out there thriving, succeeding, and leading the way makes us so proud!

Both of our football teams made the finals played at Rongotai College on Saturday. The last time both teams were in the finals together was back in 2023.

Golden glory for our Junior Boys today! Locked at 1–1 at halftime, the boys took full advantage of the wind at their backs and a fresh wave of momentum to completely dominate the second half. Huge congratulations to Coach Ben, Manager Ms Bibi, and the whole squad on an awesome undefeated season. After two years without a team in the junior league, this win makes it all the more sweeter!

What an awesome final for our Senior Boys against Kāpiti College! Down 0–2 at halftime, the team fought back to level the game at 2–2, forcing a penalty shootout to decide the title. While they narrowly missed out and finished as proud runners-up, it was an awesome end to the season. Huge congratulations to Coach Mr Johnson, Manager Zinh, and the entire team on a fantastic year!

What's Coming Up: Week 6

Last week was a jam-packed week!

From our Poly Club winning the inaugural Tagata Moana competition, to our ERO visit, which we look forward to receiving the report to help us as we move from good to great, to welcoming our future students at our Year 8 Open Evening, to our Senior Formal, where everyone looked amazing, to our sports teams who played in their division finals.

We are so proud of our incredible students, staff, and whānau who were involved and worked hard. Here's to a great second half of the term!
