We have had many art activities this week, from painting, to collage, but the simplest of all creations is paper and pencils. Imagination unlocking work in progress!

Some of our Kākāpō tamariki worked collaboratively together today to create this masterpiece. They took turns adding to it, problem solving among themselves where the blocks went, and they used range of other resourses to bring their vision alive. Our dolls from our newly added dolls house, the train tracks to support access to the build, and most importantly their great imaginations. Lots of laughs along the way and it was great to see friends including our new friends into their play.
I wonder what their next build will be?

A big thank you to Normandale school for creating this beautiful takaoreore for our tamariki in the Kiwi room.

Made by the schools enviro group. They collected and arranged the fabrics themselves

The lambs came back! As part of our Kiwi room's current learning focus on animals this morning Sarah bought three lambs in for our younger pēpi. Meet Chai, Coffee and Bean.

Last Friday we had Sarah visit with a Lamb, this was set up by our Kaiako Liz, this was Kākāpō rooms star reward. The baby lamb was named Chai, we watched her being fed by a bottle, she had a nappy on and we got to pat her. Tamariki were surprised that Chai had only two toes on her feet, we hope that she will return again soon with another little lamb. It was a great learning experience for all of us.
